anti-virus programs finishing too fast
So I was running AVG and Ad-aware and noticed something that worried me, they did their scans in about 10 minutes. I have 90gigs worth of files, and know its taken longer before. I am not sure if this is a sign of something malignant

For the right price...

Have you recently defragged, cleared up space, made a major update to the software, changed the way you use it (doing less things in the foreground), or switched off certain parts of the scan or scan type by accident?
Because really, running full tilt with nothing in the background and me just leaving it, my AVG'll clear a terabyte in that time, but my computer is somewhat atypical.

Do you have heuristics or quick scan turned on? They tend to speed up scans a lot. If most of your files are media/archives rather than programs, the scan can speed along with heuristics.

I usually run it with nothing else on, I dont think I did anything that would speed it up. I did defrag not too long ago. Still it only scanned like 40k objects and I thought I was in the hundreds, suppose that be from the disk clean-up I did.
In any case, its sounding like there isn't anything bad that could cause this
