8-Bit Theater When is 8-Bit Theater coming back.

No, seriously.

Because every other webcomic online makes me want to gouge my eyes out in boredom. Either they have no plot or story to them, or they're not funny, or they often don't have a single joke in the entire page. Sometimes they'll take several pages just to crawl half an inch forward in the story. Yes I'm talking about LookingForGroup.

ADVENTURERS! used to satisfy the funny, fast moving and plot-based webcomic. 8-Bit Theater took that over spectacularly with it's numerous jokes per strip and hilarious, well-written cast and characters you cared about. There's literally nothing else in their particular webcomic niche.

And thank god for that. While 8-bit was obviously what originally drew me to this place, Brian's other projects are, just, better. Like that's obviously my opinion, but I feel like we got everything we could out of 8-bit and it's better for all of us if Brian now concentrates on other stuff. Not to mention the man has to eat, and 8-bit ain't gonna bring food to the table.

In case it wasn't obvious, the main purpose of this topic is: "Is there ANY other webcomic out there that fills the ADVENTURERS/8-Bit Theater niche?" :P

No, nothing else worth reading exists anywhere. Now go back to being bored like the rest of us.

Aside from my own, I've never really been able to get into another webcomic either, actually...Or well, not to the degree that I was into 8-bit (I've read a few since, so it's not like I haven't tried anything).

I'm trying to capture the "spirit" of 8-bit in The Dreadful. What with the fantasy setting and the cast of not-exactly-heroic characters and such. Still, my comic suffers the handicap of not being Final Fantasy based and not being 10 years old yet.

BUT we'll get there! Not with the Final Fantasy part, because that's copyright infringement, but the "10 years old" part might be something I can do. It depends on how much fun I have with it and where I am in life by then.

EDIT: I can say with almost 100% certainty though that 8-bit is NOT coming back. It's a waste of time to even worry about it.

Might be better to ask that in the Media forum then, if you want my suggestion.

A very subtle little plug for Dreadful there.

Well, Meo, if you want fighting, jokes, and regular updates, there's always Dr. McNinja. It isn't as dense as 8-bit, but it's just as weird. Or, you could try Cucumber Quest, if the comic just has to be based on old RPG videogames. Not that Cucumber Quest is based on a particular game, but it's based on the idea of old console RPGs.

Or, for something very different from 8-bit, have you tried reading Wondermark?
