Serious Don Siegelman and other Democrats in jail for campaigning

So I've been paying attention to quite a number of stories. One of the most amazing is the story of Don Siegelman

He's a Democrat that made the mistake of winning an election against a Republican. Here's the story in a nutshell:

1. A controversial and unauthorized after-midnight
recount switches election victory from Governor
Siegelman to Bob Riley.

2. Affidavit Points to White House

3. The Extreme Sentencing of Don Siegelman leads to him being unable to tell his story

4. Karl Rove Helped to Send an Innocent Man
to Jail.

Democracy now in 2008 about Don Siegelman

2009 edition

Thom Hartmann last year:

2011 on the Big Picture

TYT on the issue

Here's the problem. Everything points to Karl Rove. And Karl Rove is NOT a nice guy.

Karl Rove is known for using any means to get the White House and the state under red control:

Karl Rove literally made a remark about murdering Todd Akin who made the legitimate rape comment recently.

But I am taking a look at the other issues here... Link

Quote:
“If you say he’s a socialist, they’ll go to defend him. If you call him a ‘far out left-winger,’ they’ll say, ‘no, no, he’s not.’” The proper strategy, Rove declared, was criticizing Obama without really criticizing him—by reminding voters of what the president said that he was going to do and comparing it to what he’s actually done. “If you keep it focused on the facts and adopt a respectful tone, then they’re gonna agree with you.”
Karl Rove's strategy is in the Businessweek article and it's pretty telling how he is truly thinking here.

Quote:
Rove’s analysis of the Senate races was technical and masterly. The Republicans need four seats to gain a majority, and Rove said he feels “really good” about Nebraska and is optimistic about North Dakota, even though Democrats have a strong candidate in former state Attorney General Heidi Heitkamp. “We’re deeply engaged” there, Rove said. In Wisconsin, former Governor Tommy Thompson “has an excellent shot to win—he has a quirky, cross-party appeal.” Virginia is going to be tight and will likely mirror the way the state votes in the presidential race. Of those, Rove declared, “we can win three.”

In Connecticut, Rove noted that Linda McMahon, the former head of World Wrestling Entertainment, whom he had once written off, was running a “really smart campaign.” And the state, he noted, had moved more to the right. “Those affluent, socially liberal, economically conservative people in Fairfield County and the New York suburbs have finally figured out that their pocketbooks matter more than abortion.”

There are six Republican incumbents Rove identified as in jeopardy, but the biggest risk to Republican hopes of retaking the Senate is Todd Akin in Missouri, following his comments about “legitimate rape.” Rove urged every attendee to apply pressure on Akin to convince him to leave the race. “We have five people who are interested” in replacing Akin, Rove said. “We don’t care who the nominee is, other than get Akin out.”
I don't think it's an accident that they had a journalist in the meeting. All of the news will be focused on the Akin murder comment. The strategy is the key issue. It's a way to garner sympathy for Akin without actually endorsing the guy. Notice what's going on here. If you truly want to see the mentality of Rove, they don't care who's in the seat. They just want control of all of the houses to continue their agenda.

So that's the strategy here. While the media focuses on the apology, they won't report on how Rove will be trying to influence the battles for Senators in other states and how to influence those elections with voter machines and rigging the elections with voter suppression laws.

Don't be fooled. I haven't seen one thing good about Republicans since they've moved to the far right.

Is the claim that he didn't actually give the guy that position on the board in exchange for payment, or just that there were problems with the trial? There were tons of problems with the trial, from not giving the defense access to key testimonial evidence along with jury tampering and so on. I'm surprised he didn't get off on that technicality (since, again, it doesn't mean he didn't actually accept payment to appoint Scrushy to the health board).

I would also like to point out that he was on trial while still campaigning for reelection, not that he was put on trial after the recount (which was in a primary with his own Lt. Governor, by the way, not a general election). That's probably the reason why he lost in such a landslide--it's difficult to vote in a primary for someone who is actively being put on trial for corruption.

Of the question whether Karl Rove needs to be put in jail, that man needs to be put in jail for about 40 years when you add up all the shit he's done, if not for life.

I mean, Karl Rove is one of the worst sacks of shit to ever walk the earth. I don't recommend going down and looking at what he's done because it is so disgusting. He deserves a life sentence in isolation.
