Gunpoint is a game you should all be playing
Gunpoint is a game about one man and some extremely poorly designed electrical systems. You are super-sarcastic freelance spy Richard Conway, your client just got killed, and you were caught by security cameras at the scene. You have to clear your name, deal with scads of corporate espionage, and try to find the real killer.
The game is, as the website says, a puzzle-stealth game. Everything in the buildings you're infiltrating is hooked up to one of a few electrical grids. You can rewire them to, say, make a lightswitch open a door. You have to use this and some other tools to clear a path to the objective (usually a computer you're hacking into) and avoid or take out the guards. It only takes an hour or two to run through it, but I'd at least double that after a replay or two (it has a branching plot). It's really fun and quite hilarious, and it's only $9 at the moment, so there's no real reason not to pick it up unless you are Scrooge McGrinch. Last edited by Mr.Bookworm; 06-06-2013 at 10:14 PM. Been watching the Yogscast play this, which has resulted in some truely hilarious moments, including the main character being clobbered by a door he rigged to open, and falling through several panes of glass and taking out 3 guards at once.
Looks fun.

Sigh.
I'd love to play this, but trying to start the demo made most eveything on my computer hang, and when I did get it to run, it crashed my computer midway through the fifth mission. Like, not that it made everything freeze; my computer just crashed without warning. Power off. That's the second game this week I've tried to play that did that. I think I'll have to conclude that I can't play Gunpoint without a more powerful computer. That, or the crash was caused by whatever bug kept showing a message box reading "floating point divide by zero" A shame, really. What I played was quite fun. |

I know that feeling. Having an ancient pc and no money to buy a newer one sucks balls when great new games come out. I was actually surprised at the requirements for this as well; who'd have thought a sprite based 2d sidescroller would need dual core?
