In short: If you are a white police officer tracking down a minority suspect in this country you can do whatever the flying fuck you want, including murder, and you won't even have to go on trial for the mere possibility that you're guilty of committing a crime while doing so.

In other recent racism news, cop shot and killed a twelve year old black boy for carrying a BB gun. Police have refered to the child as a "man" or "young man" when talking about the incident. Because black boys aren't allowed to be children because children are innocent and cops refuse to believe a black kid could ever be innocent.

Cops disgust me. All of them.

I'm sure 'not all cops' are evil and yadda yadda blah blah blah, but I have one (white) Facebook friend who became a cop (long after I met him) and he's now like, the single biggest jerk in existence, and I keep him listed as an Acquaintance in large part because I'm fascinated by the stuff he posts.

It was an airsoft gun that had the orange identification tags removed. Also, when they told him to put his hands into the air, he started pulling out said gun. I do question why he was shot, because of the rule of escalating force though, but I don't think racism was why this occurred.

He was a fucking twelve year old child and there are a million non-lethal ways he could have been taken down. He was reaching for the gun to show that it was just an airsoft gun BECAUSE NO FUCKING DUH. If he had been a white kid, he probably wouldn't have even had the cops called on him, let alone be shot to death. So yeah, it's about racism.

Also, all cops are bastards because the job of a cop is protection of property and maintaining the status quo, because the "good cops" always back up the bad ones when this shit goes down, because any actually good cop would see the inherent corruption and racism and stop being a cop.

Fuck cops. All cops. And the idea that this is "prejudice" as tho remotely comparable to you know racism and shit is a fucking joke.

EDIT: Like seriously where are all the "good cops" marching against this shit. Where are the "good cops" fighting for Darren Wilson to be charged with murder. Where are the "good cops" just as furious about this as everyone else.

Did it occur that not doing any of that might be of more help to a tense situation than not? They walk a fine line and doing so might not be the best idea.

Are their officers who disagree with what happened and has happened in Ferguson? Yes, more than likely. But coming out to join the marches might put them on the bad side of a job they love or might cause more problems than it solves.

So, on this subject...

two officers involved failed to immediately give first aid to the fallen boy. It wasn't until an FBI agent who happened to be in the area arrived four minutes later that Tamir was given any such attention.

The police said two officers, responding to a 9-1-1 call, went to the park and saw Tamir take what they thought was a pistol from a table under a gazebo in the park and stuff it in his waistband. Police said that the boy was sitting with a group at the time.

Police also said that the officers told Tamir three times to raise his hands, and that when he reached for what they thought was a real pistol, he was shot.

The video, however, shows officers in a cruiser pull up within several feet of Rice, who was not with a group, but by himself underneath a gazebo. Immediately, even before the car stops rolling, the cruiser's passenger side door opens, an officer emerges and fires at Tamir, who drops to the ground.

The shot that struck Tamir appears to have been fired the very moment the officer stands up after getting out of the car.

So yeah the idea that this was anything but cold-blooded murder of a child by the cops involved is a fucking joke and it's disgusting that the police are trying to cover this up.

Never forget that it's not at all unusual for whole groups of white people to walk around with much, much bigger guns and making a point to have them in the open while in stores or walking down the street. As far as I know none of those groups have ever had to deal with harassment from the police, much less having a fucking cruiser pull up and fire on them immediately.

Not to mention lie up and down about the circumstances.
