New Comic Idea
OK, I don't know if this is the correct place to put this thread, but I'm gonna try anyways. Shiney will move it if relevance is an issue, so I have less than anything to worry about. I got this idea the other day for a comic using all the FF1 characters, very much like 8BT, except using new names and new colors for everyone. I decided I would use my friend's names and personalities for all the characters, including me.

Probably would have been better off in the Comics section, but you're new. Anyway, nice recoloring jobs on the sprites. It would be helpful if you could tell us about each character, though. Maybe you could make a comic with these and then post that, to get some feedback.

I agree the colours are sweet, and friends names are always good to let people know its a normal person doing it. My only suggestion is to make sure you make it different than other sprite comics, ie 8-bit, like different setting or soemthing hah i donno, play with it man!

I've allready done some basic sketches and am planning to base it closely on Neverwinter Nights style gaming. I'm not sure on the setting or anything but it's going to be centered on me and my friends. I'll post up my sketches in the comic section once I scan them. Does anyone know a good place to get backgrounds and such? I have pretty much all the sprites, but backgrounds are a problem.
Edit: Derfel, I hope to GOD you're allegiance is to the National Association of Marlin Brandou Look Alikes.  And not the alternative  .

As long as you are making a new comic why not draw new characters? At least then you own your own idea and if it ever takes off (which is more likely if you have an innovative cast) you know it's all to your credit, not someone else's.

because if he does that, they'll inevitably look just like his friends, and it could end up being too closely tied to real life. You never want your online/comic character to look too much like you.
