Has anyone heard of Oni?
I'm just wondering what people's thoughts are on the game. I know it's not one of Bungie's better known games (what with Halo to overshadow it), but I think it's one of the most fun games I've ever played, and that it should have a sequel.

I played the demo for a little bit. It was pretty fun, but the the level designs were boring.

It was an interesting concept, but the controls were clunky, and the bosses were lame and repetitive.

I hate Oni. I hate it with all my heart and soul. It looked so damn cool, but the controls just didn't work. They had to be some of the worst I'd ever dealt with. There was no point in using a gun, because it took you half an hour to aim correctly, while the enemies never missed.
I think I made it up to some spinny computer thing with a quirky AI before I finally took the game back in disgust.

I remember the spinny computer thing well. After I got the hang of the controls, it was a pretty fun game. It was indeed a very good idea for a game, but I think that the final product needed a lot more work. The plot was kind of stale, and a multiplayer aspect would have done wonders for the game. With a bit of TLC, a sequel to Oni could be a really awesome game.

Finally, someone who saw what i did. My goodness people, did you even really play the game? You're console people, aren't you? The controls are almost exactly the same as every first person shooter for PC in the last two years at least.
And, by the by, I almost never miss with the guns. Maybe it's just you, huh? That computer.... Could you be talking about the second level?! How the heck would you know whether a game is good or not by playing it for five minutes? (Given that often the best part of a game is the middle) Last edited by wilysword; 12-06-2004 at 11:39 PM. |

The gameplay itself actually turned out to highly entertain me.
The plot was mildly engaging. The levels were nice and futurisic. The amount of running around without finding enemies or the right doors on some levels? Boring.
