Colony RP (interest & sign-up)

I've had this idea for a while now but I wasn't sure how many people would like it.

The year is 3019. Earth has exhausted all of its resourses and become a barren wasteland. The governments of the world have joined together and formed the Global Resurrection Syndicate (GRS) which had the duty of finding another planet for humans to occupy. In the meantime humans all over the world are dying out of lack of food, water, and in some cases oxygen, as plants have not been present on the planet for the past 5-10 years.

The GRS finally found a suitable planet called Oreinz, where there was oxygen, water, and plants in abundance. Unfortunately the planet is already inhabited by the Oren, whose language is close to english so they easily picked it up through thier negotiations with the humans. But, sadly, the negotiations did not last. Neither sides knew the full story of what happened but in one meeting where certain members of the GRS and the Oren government (called the Regency) were making the final preporations for the humans to come live in peace, there was trouble. All that anyone knew was that three members of the GRS and two of the Regency were dead.

Humans were outraged by this and thought it was a deliberate attack on their race. The GRS declared war on Oreinz and is now attempting to take it by force.

That is the basic storyline. There are two different ways we can go with this, either we're all humans and are trying to conquer Oreinz or some of us can be humans, some of us Oren. I'll let you decide. I'll explain the Oren, weapons, and storyline in more detail if enough people show interest.

I like it, the chance for propaganda creation amuses me. I'd join either side, but being the evil human invaders and trying to put a good spin on it would be enjoyable.

This seems interesting, it opens for a lot of oppertuneties. (However that is spelled)

It does sound interesting and what type of tech is there, I figured advanced but if there is very little resources then maybe the good stuff is hard to come by?

Yeah, this little bit looked intriguing, I would join if I knew more about it. Though to Minion: I doubt our weapons would be crazily restricted, despite economical factors, humans would probably have lots of killing machines handy, heheh.

Think star wars, humans have blasters and energy weapons, the majority of projectile weapons were abandoned in the late 2500's, but there are still some along the lines of rocket launchers that are commonly used, and there are also explosives. You can create your own weapons as long as I approve of them. There are two kinds of Oren, those that are physically powerful, called the Yache, and those that are mentally powerful, called the Ueto. They basically use weapons that suit thier type. Yache prefer hand to hand but can use melee weapons, and the Ueto do not use weapons unless they have no other choice, they tend to lean toward telekinesis and magic.

I'm going to wait for a couple more people and then I'll make character sheets.
