*Prior to the fight*
"That'll be a nice gift for Moon." "I imagine it would! And after we heal it up, it'll be a useful now for dealing with pokemons that aren't suitable for your grass type." As Charlotte and Lola finished off their respective opponent, he sighed heavily with relief, beaming at the success of the group, smiling broadly to everyone else. "We did it! Excellent! Oh? I'm getting a transmission." Renny listened to his communicator as Rachel exclaimed about her group's chance encounter with Chizuru, going abashed at the description having spent the entire mission by far with Lola at close range. Such a thought was hard to believe. He decided to evade the topic almost entirely, but he still felt good natured given how they got extra support. Togekiss rested nearby using Roost, and didn't require much attention to his wounds. "Well, as long as she is on our side, that's all that matters. But Rachel, I'm sure glad to hear you guys are doing well! We'll press on shortly. I wish you all luck! Please be careful, ok?" *Fight* *Before Bard's post, since I was ninja'ed* "I don't like attacking children, nevermind anything else outside of a friendly competition. But we all heard her intent and she started it. There is no chance for negotiation. Not yet. Anyhow, same overall tactics as with that wacky military guy!" Renny then pulled out out two pokeballs and smirked ever so slightly. Not because he was looking forward to what was to come, but because the companions ever so close to his hands were reassuring. Renny flinged the pokeballs into the fray, revealing the poised Umbreon and the ever ready for combat, Swampert. Renny then started issuing out orders, more assured due to the success of the tactic the previous time. "Lola, Fake Out that girl! Umbreon, get ready to use Helping Hand! Swampert, mimic the Helping Hand when it comes. Charlotte, Metagross is highly resistant to physical blows, so my pokemons will support your fire type! Lola is buying you time to attack without that girl using her supply of effective moves! Give it your best shot! Shannon, if you got any pokemons capable of applying status affliction like sleep and paralysis, go ahead and do it! I'm pretty sure Lola has a move that can heal status conditions from everyone at once. If not, just focus on that other pokemon. The faster we do this, the less time we give to those ghosts!" Umbreon and Swampert both readied themselves, watching Charlotte with a vague nod as they prepared to lend their aid to what they could only hope to be a fire type pokemon suitable to melt Metagross to scrap. *After Bard's post* "Buck, use a fire blast on the Metagross" The two perked up to attention doing their own unique form of encouragement, each hoping that the Metagross went down before the Mew pokebrid got time to attack with her supreme arsenal of techniques. --------------------- *Prior to Fight* Togekiss use Roost after combat to heal up. Doesn't need items to heal up since it wasn't knocked out. *Combat* Getting Lola to use Fake Out on Moera to force her to flinch and thus lose a turn. 100% chance of flinching her and 100% chance of acting first in combat unless Moera also uses a move like Quick Attack, then speed is determined by which of the two is faster. Fake Out can only be used at start of battle (or when first sent out in a pokemon's case) since I'm pretty sure I can't just withdraw Lola. Umbreon to use Helping Hand and Swampert to Mimic that Helping Hand on Buck who is using Fire Blast on Metagross. Last edited by Menarker; 03-20-2010 at 10:57 PM. |

When Rachel started tending to him, Impact had been about to shrug her off, (he'd accept help if he needed it, but he had used a full restore, and a half-breed had no right to worry about him, even if the poison had still been affecting him quite badly), but the object handed to him by Chiruzu had glistened so invitingly, and smelled so good... He had taken it without a second thought. And hadn't regretted it. The Euphoria had been... extremely pleasant. He hadn't experienced the like before, though wouldn't mind doing so again. But just as compelling as the Euphoria had been its undercurrent. Darkness had been prominent, but not the darkness of humanity, the kind that came with guilt and hatred, and which he knew well, but a more... natural darkness. One that signaled not the absence off light, but its redundancy. It was... sufficient, good the way it was. And with it came power.
When he was capable of thinking clearly again, he made a mental note to speak to Chiruzu about this wonderful substance. He had dimly heard her mention demons and the Netherworld, but he'd need clarification before he judged... or became too hopeful. He liked power, and didn't mind too much what its source was. But back to the mission... He had been too distracted to switch weapons, but didn't mind too much. He had made sure to carry the Dragon Slave throughout their trek (even if it hadn't been too useful), but as he faced two Narchams and a Pulverot, he was glad he had chosen it. Impact was dimly aware that his allies were engaging enemies behind him as well, but he barely spared them a thought. As long as they covered his back, he didn't really care what happened to them. Still, he had teammates on this end as well, Pierce and Chiruzu, and he had choices to make. As he used yet another Adrenaline boost, he spoke rapidly: "Right, we know the drill. Or at least me and Pierce do, I hope Chiruzu can pick it up. Let's watch out for a Syncstrike, and kill them quickly. I'd go for the Narchams, but if we kill them they're gonna be replaced quite quickly, and we'll get hit by their replacements. We could kill both Narchams this turn, but we'd run the risk of both being replaced by Omnisroths, in which case we'd experience severe pain. Let's take out the Omnisroth first, if we use combined fire it should go down fairly quickly." He stepped forwards just as the Adrenaline boost started to take effect, swung the Dragon Slave (he suddenly realized, he was still using Rachel's blade) over his head, and attacked the Large Abomination. "Hm..." Pierce pondered Chizuru's words. Apparently, she and her friends came from the netherworld, which seemed to be the afterlife. Which wasn't a bad place if you could fight, and Rio said back at the bank there were no pokemon. Perhaps that world wasn't as corrupt as this one since everyone would be busy fighting for their lives. He could live in a place like that. Then again, one line from Chizuru wasn't nearly enough information. He wanted to ask, but there was a more pressing question.
"If you're from the netherworld, what are you doing here?" He asked. Then came the Ruin-types. "Finally." He muttered. Impact gave his orders, but Pierce had other ideas. "Fuck that, I'm not going to take damage from both Narchams and the Pulverot. The Narchams die, and whatever replaces them dies too." He said, and deployed Metagross. "Meteor Mash!" Metagross slammed one of its legs hard into one of the Narchams.

Matthias was very glad he had chosen something with such a wide assortment of powerful moves. Given that it was primarily three versus three in the back, excluding Rachel, it seemed he'd have a chance to test more of them out. Changing back to Venomoth was tempting but with a flying and a psychic type against him it would be a poor choice.
Rachel. I'm going to attack the Honchkrow. You should focus on the Alakazam first and then preferably the Honchkrow afterwards. With them down I'll switch back to Venomoth and take on the Mismagius while you can return to healing the team. Matthias looked ahead calmly, lightning crackling around him again and surging forward unexpectedly towards the Honchkrow Thunderbolt. |

Team One Synopsis (Impact/Pierce/Matthias/Rachel/Chizuru)
Impact: Great damage is dealt to Wild Pulverot. Metagross (Pierce's): Severe damage is dealt to Wild Narcham A. Metagross's Attack raised by 1. Matthias: Severe damage is dealt to Wild Honchkrow. Quiksilver (Rachel's Metaleon): Severe damage is dealt to Wild Alakazam. Bronzong (Rachel's): Wild Alakazam is defeated. Chizuru: Wild Narcham A is defeated. Enemy Formation: A Wild Gastrodon is detected, but hasn't deployed yet. Chizuru thinks there are more Narchams, but one hasn't deployed yet. Wild Narcham: Good damage is dealt to Chizuru. Wild Pulverot: Great damage is dealt to Impact. Wild Honchkrow: Good damage is dealt to Matthias. Wild Mismagius: Good damage is dealt to Bronzong. "Our Lady Shizuka thinks herself a superheroine," Chizuru answered offhandedly to Pierce. "She just loves to spread good will throughout worlds she's never even been in before. And where she goes, we're not far behind." The Pulverot swung a broad claw in a wild arc, knocking the sword out of Impact's hand. But Impact didn't go down like no bitch, and kicked the sword off of the ground, then quickly grasped the hilt and continued its path, slicing up the Pulverot's body. The Pulverot staggered backward from the gash, but remained on its feet. Metagross came down on the nearest Narcham with all the fury of an avalanche, and didn't stop putting on the pressure until it lost count of how many painful-sounding snaps it heard. The Narcham was still alive, but it was already regretting challenging the intruders. Metagross felt like it could do a bit more damage from then on, enjoying a sudden boost to its attack. Honchkrow stalled in the air when Matthias's Thunderbolt smacked into it, but it quickly regained its flight. "Alakazam goes down now!" Rachel commanded her Pokémon. "Quiksilver, Crunch! Bronzong, focus your Earthquake!" Alakazam tried to hold strong despite the damage it was absorbing, but its brain seemed to overload and the Alakazam collapsed. "I really hate psychic types." Bronzong turned sharply to look at Rachel. "I really hate evil psychic types," she corrected herself. Bronzong continued to stare Rachel down, but then the sound of the toilet shattering made it turn back around. The scouters didn't pick anything up yet, but it had a distinctive enough wail. The sound of slimy lips slapping together. "Gastrodon," Rachel identified it. "Doesn't really fit in with the rest of the Pokémon types we see here." Chizuru rushed forward and pounded the wounded Narcham into submission with her tonfas, killing it. There was no replacement. "I think there's more," Chizuru said, looking intently down the hallway. "They may be altering their tactics." The Pulverot struck Impact solidly with Body Crusher. The remaining Narcham cut into Chizuru, but her wounds closed fast, probably a product of her demon blood. Still, it didn't mean she wasn't hurt by the attack. Honchkrow and Mismagius didn't really have any weaknesses to exploit on Matthias or Rachel's Pokémon. Mismagius hit Bronzong with Shadow Ball while Honchkrow cut into Matthias's left shoulder with Steel Wing. Both painful attacks, but nowhere near crippling. ----- Team Two Synopsis (Renny/Charlotte/Shannon/Lola) Sol-leks (Charlotte's Mightyena): Good damage is dealt to Mew Pokébrid Moera. Renny's Pokémon: Helping Hand x2 is used on Buck (Charlotte's Arcanine). Buck (Charlotte's Arcanine): Severe damage is dealt to Trainer Metagross. Florescence (Shannon's Leafeon): Critical damage is dealt to Trainer Metagross. Cacturne (Shannon's): Great damage is dealt to Mew Pokébrid Moera. Status Effects: Mew Pokébrid Moera is flinching. Metagross (Moera's): Severe damage is dealt to Sol-leks (Charlotte's Mightyena). Chimecho (Moera's): Swampert will fall asleep on the next round. Mononoke x4: Critical damage is dealt to Florescence (Shannon's Leafeon). All four Mononoke are radiant with life energy. Sol-leks forced itself to rush the little girl and bite into her, opening her flesh on her left arm. Blood pattered onto the floor, but a glance at the girl revealed that she only seemed uncomfortable. The attack got through, but it was like the girl was ignoring the pain. Buck's Fire Blast, boosted by two doses of Helping Hand, rocked Moera's Metagross. It didn't inflict a burn, but at a 10% chance, that was a pipe dream. Lola, obeying Renny's orders to the letter, used Fake Out on Moera. "Impressive," Moera said, not sounding impressed at all. More like she was on some kind of bad medicine. Shannon decided to go for broke and deploy Florescence and Cacturne. "Florescence, X-Scissor on Metagross! Cacturne, Sucker Punch on that crazy little bitch!" Metagross, despite yet another good attack, still remained standing. Moera was nearly knocked into the wall by Cacturne's Sucker Punch, but continued to float disturbingly above the carpet. "Give me more," Moera said. Moera couldn't attack this turn, compliments of Lola. But the rest of the enemy force was raring to go, including the horribly injured Metagross. Metagross hovered forward and slugged Sol-leks solidly across the face with Hammer Arm, knocking the Mightyena into a small table and breaking it. Chimecho made a cute noise, and then Swampert started to sway unnaturally. Chimecho used Yawn in an attempt to put Swampert in a deep sleep, but Swampert still had the next turn before it took over. All four Mononoke swept through Florescence, leaving it weak and struggling to remain on its feet. The Mononoke returned to their positions, now glowing with life energy. "We can expect some strong attacks from them the next turn," Lola observed to the others. |

"Just who is this Lady Shizuka you keep talking about?" Pierce asked. Then came the enemy counterattack. Chizuru was hit, "You okay?" He asked, but he shouldn't have. Her wounds seemed to heal immediately. Impact, on the other hand, took a good beating from the Pulverot and that wasn't healing anytime soon.
"They may be altering their tactics." Chizuru said. "Altering their tactics how?" He asked, pondering what that could mean exactly. Maybe they decided to send something tougher? Like an Omnisroth, or three Pulverots. If it was the Pulverots, Impact might want to leave the Narcham alive, but Chizuru's Solidarity Guard could be used to its full effectiveness on all three. "Impact, take out the Narcham! Chizuru and I will deal with the Pulverot. Metagross, another Meteor Mash!" Pierce called. Metagross slammed its fist hard into the Pulverot.

"Swampert, good job but I'm pulling you back for now!"
Swampert waved good night yawning to itself although by the time he would enter the pokeball he would be lively again. Renny then summoned the radiant Togekiss which hovered on the field shining with vitality. "Lola, let's do that Blizzard thing on those ghosts! Umbreon Helping Hand! Togekiss, Mimic that! Both of you target Lola! Shannon, Chimecho is a psychic types so those moves you used will work awesome on it. Charlotte, down that Metagross!" Umbreon's gold rings shimmered hard with the energy of a glowing moon while Togekiss's "pixie dust" glittered around Lola to infuse her with power as it gracefully flew around her. --------------------- Retreated Swampert. Not asleep. Lola to do Blizzard targetting the ghosts, hopefully knocking them out or otherwise making them give back the energy to the grass eevee. Togekiss and Umbreon doing Helping Hand on her. Suggested Shannon to do the X-Scissor and Sucker Punch on Chimecho. Suggested Charlotte to slag Metagross with another fire attack. |

"You heard what the creepy rat said," Charlotte shouted to Sol-leks, "go and make her bleed." Sol-leks at this point didn't need that much more encouragement. Judging by the girl's reactions, he figured her to rate very low on things that wish to exist. He almost felt pity for her and her miserable existence. Almost.
Anyways, he didn't care anymore and jumped at her again, and jumped for another crunch to take her down. It shouldn't be long now before she bleeds out. "Buck," she said, her demeanor cooled slightly by Buck's presence, "take down the Metagross with another fire blast, get ready to join Sol-leks when your done." Unlike Sol-leks, Buck was uncomfortable at the thought of attacking the child, but put it out of his mind as he sent another fire blast at the Metagross. |

Impact did a double-take. He had expected he'd be getting support from Pierce and Chizuru in attacking the Omnisroth, and was dismayed to realize that he was not only not getting support, but that the monster was retaliating. And how it had retaliated. Their scientists had not yet come up with anti-ruin armor, and he felt it as the air was crushed from his lungs and his ribcage filed multible complaints. He was dimly aware of a Narcham dying (what the fuck, hadn't he told them to attack Omnisroth, what were they doing?), and not getting replaced (which was good, but... not really. It meant they were recommitting their reinforcements, probably creating more high-tier ruin pokemon). When he was capable of breathing again, he stood, ready to continue fighting, demand that they actually focus fire on the Omnisroth this time, when Pierce started giving orders. Cue the double take.
Pierce's Metagross was busy attacking the Omnisroth, and blocking his avenue of attack, so he had to turn and attack the Narcham. Which he would have had to do anyway, he realized. The other two'd be expecting him to follow orders, leaving the Narcham alive might endanger them. And if there's one thing he'd learned in training and combat, it was that you Didn't Endanger The Team. Pierce didn't seem to be aware of that, just as he didn't seem to be aware of the concept of order. Or, for that matter, combat tactics. Judging from the amount of damage a Narcham had taken from just one meteor mash, he thought it likely that Metagross could 1-hit-ko Narchams, particularly considering that it seemed a lot stronger after its first attack had succeeded. Him attacking a Narcham was pure overkill, since, despite lower strength, his attack was stronger and a lot more effictive. Stupid. Stupid. He had launched himself at the Narcham, was only half-aware that he was killing it, cutting it to pieces. They had been routine kills even before he started using the adrenaline boost, and now he found that he could kill them without really thinking about it. Which was a good thing, really. Because tactical concerns were the least of his worries, he was concentrating far more strongly on holding back large quantities of murderous rage. Pierce not attacking Omnisroth was bad enough, but taking charge of the battle? Giving him orders? A pathetic trainer, dull in mind and body, who relied on pokemon for their power gave him orders? Presumed to take charge of the situation? His arrogance... was astounding. was enraging. would be punished. Impact's eyes were closed as he stepped away from the Narcham. Eliminating Pierce was rather inviting, but the coward hid behind his pokemon, threatening a death for a death if Impact harmed him. And so he had to find mere speech sufficient to express himself, while trying to contain Murder in his heart, and stop it from spreading to his head, and from there to his hand, which was itching to pick up a revovler. "Pierce... if you have problems with myself being chosen as officer, you should have taken it up with Rachel. I am competent enough to deal with the situation. There is... no need for your interference. I would strongly advise that you refrain from ruining your career any further. That means start following orders and stop giving them. Is that understood?" The mission came first. Revenge would come later. But it would come. Oh yes. |

Team One Synopsis (Impact/Pierce/Matthias/Rachel/Chizuru)
Metagross (Pierce's): Severe damage is dealt to Wild Pulverot. Impact: Wild Narcham B is defeated. Enemy Force Update: Two Wild Pulverots have deployed. Two Wild Gastrodons have deployed. Rachel's Pokémon: Severe damage is dealt to Mismagius. Rachel: Wild Honchkrow is defeated. Wild Pulverot x2: Severe damage is dealt to Metagross (Pierce's). Wild Mismagius: Good damage is dealt to Quiksilver (Rachel's Metaleon). Gastrodon x2: Bronzong (Rachel's) is defeated. Chizuru tried to smile through the pain, but Pierce could tell that she wasn't invincible to injury just because of her supernatural body. "Lady Shizuka is our leader. I really admire her. She's so strong and calm and cool when she fights." Then Pierce asked her what she meant about the enemy changing its tactics.. "Well, I've been in a real war before, and one thing many demon lords do is to send out small or weak groups of their own soldiers to face the enemy force, to get a look at just how that enemy force will defend itself. Basically, they get a feel for all the wonderful ways in which the enemy can kill his men without sacrificing many of his better troops to learn that valuable lesson. Once they know how the enemy fights, they'll stall for a bit in order to change their attack plans into something more effective. Ruin Pokémon were made for war, or at least that's what Kiyomi and Mika claim, and they may have basic battle tactics. Their Syncstrike is proof of this, at least." But the time for talk was over. Metagross struck Pulverot solidly with Meteor Mash. Pulverot stumbled back a few steps, but reassumed its battle stance. "I've fought Pulverots before," Chizuru mentioned. "But I'm always still amazed at how sturdy they are." Impact cut up his Narcham into kibble with not a whole lot of effort. But it still seemed like he used more effort than usual. Oh, right. That Pulverot's Body Wrecker reduced his attack and defense. Chizuru gave the remaining Pulverot some of her wrath, knocking it down for good. "We're clear on this side!" she called. Then ten more Narchams rushed out from around the corner. "Or not." They finally saw how Narchams became Pulverots. It was almost too fast to be believed. The Narchams approached on the floor, on the walls, and on the ceiling. They leapt across and merged hideously when they collided. In a matter of just three seconds, ten Narchams became two Pulverots. "Here they come!" Rachel decided to finish off the Mismagius now. "Quiksilver, Crunch! Bronzong, Extrasensory!" Mismagius was badly hurt by the dual assault, then Rachel filled in for Matthias by finishing off Honchkrow with a Thunderbolt. "Phew! Awesome." Then Rachel realized she hadn't counted correctly. It wasn't just one but two Gastrodons that emerged from the bathroom, one of the west sea variety and one of the east sea variety. "Weird," Rachel said. "Almost impossible to see one of each sea varieties in the same place." Gastrodon x2 (Water/Ground) [One male and one female] Moves: Muddy Water / Body Slam / Recover / Mud Bomb Ability: Storm Drain Both Pulverots hurt Pierce's Metagross badly with Body Wreckers, then assumed a bizarre stance as their large eyes started to glow. "They're preparing a Syncstrike!" Chizuru warned Impact. "Want me to use Solidarity Guard? Amazingly, it does work against Syncstrikes." On the other side, Mismagius and the two Gastrodons worked together to put Bronzong down and injure Quiksilver. Rachel withdrew Bronzong. "These battles are always so interesting. We don't know what we'll fight next, so it really keeps me on my toes." ----- Team Two Synopsis (Renny/Charlotte/Shannon/Lola) Renny's Pokémon: Helping Hand x2 used on Lola Lola: Four Mononoke are defeated. Florescence (Shannon's Leafeon) has recovered. Enemy Force Update: One Trainer Exeggutor is deployed. Four Zombies are deployed. Mew Pokébrid Moera: Sol-leks (Charlotte's Mightyena) is defeated. Moera's Pokémon: Umbreon (Renny's) is severely wounded. Zombies: Umbreon (Renny's) is defeated. Great damage is dealt to Buck (Charlotte's Arcanine). Good damage is dealt to Florescence (Shannon's Leafeon). Lola slapped her cheeks to build up her rage, then raised her hands above her head, gathering ice power. "I hope you guys like hard nipples!" she shouted, and despite that being a bit inappropriate, Lola didn't seem to notice as she blasted all seven foes with Blizzard. With two doses of Helping Hand on her, the blizzard was extremely powerful, even knocking a couple of bookshelves over. The Mononoke vanished in the chilling gale. Florescence suddenly felt better and stared down the enemy. That seemed to make Shannon much happier. "Yeah! I love you, Renny! I love you, Lola!" Lola bowed lightly before assuming her battle stance. "Ugh. Something smells like garbage." The scouters were picking up something from beneath the floorboards. Not Pokémon... Sol-leks gave Moera another vicious gnashing of its sharp teeth against her soft flesh. There was now a place where one could see the shine of bone in Moera's arm. "I...I can feel it!" she said, smiling like a maniac. Metagross shuddered against the Fire Blast given by Buck, then crumpled under its own weight. The large body of Metagross turned red and disappeared into Moera's Pokéball. "This is fun!" Moera said joyfully before tossing another Pokéball. An Exeggutor. "Hey, that one's perfect for Florescence," Shannon said. "Fire's good on it, but bug type damage is much better. Still, an order's an order. Chimecho will fall this round, I guarantee. Florescence, X-Scissor! Cacturne, Sucker Punch! Get that Chimecho!" They got that Chimecho, all right. "Beautiful performance," Moera marveled as she tossed her next Pokéball. Hey, a Girafarig. Then all hell broke loose when the something tore through the wooden floor and through the carpet. They looked vaguely human, very small bug Pokémon crawled around on their bodies and inside their wounds, and they stank of the decay from several days of decomposition. They seemed to ignore Moera who has close to them and turned their attention to the quartet. "Not even the mansion welcomes you here," Moera giggled. "Prepare to die." Great. All this mansion needed now was an umbrella logo and an underground laboratory and they'd be set. You vaguely recall newspaper articles of missing trainers and non-trainer civilians, but if the agency wasn't called, there wasn't anything you could do about it. So, this is where they happened to wind up. "Night of the living Pokémon battle," Shannon said, trying to control her fear at seeing flesh-eating zombies. "I wonder how best to remove these guys?" Exeggutor (Grass/Psychic) [Male] Moves: Leaf Storm / Egg Bomb / Giga Drain / Psychic Ability: Chlorophyll Girafarig (Normal/Psychic) [Female] Moves: Crunch / Psychic / Iron Tail / Thunder Ability: Inner Focus Zombie (Non-Pokémon Monster) Appearance: They are most certainly dead people, but that doesn't seem to stop them from moving around. A few of them have open Pokéballs on their belts, suggesting their Pokémon were killed as well when they went rogue and tried to avenge their masters. They don't seem to be the brain-eating type of standard zombies. More like the punching and kicking type. Despite their muscles no longer working, they can fight with the strength of the undead. Suggested Tactics: An attack that cuts and scores a critical hit (like Florescence's Leaf Blade is very capable of doing) can decapitate the Zombie, killing it instantly. Zombies catch fire easily, and fire seems to be very effective at killing them, but a still-moving Zombie that attacks someone can spread the flames to their victim. "Die," Moera said before decking Sol-leks with a Focus Blast. Sol-leks disinigrated into energy and returned to Charlotte's Pokéball. Renny's Umbreon took major damage from the likes of Exeggutor's Leaf Storm and Girafarig's Thunder. Fortunately, Umbreon not only managed to survive, but it wasn't paralyzed. The zombies were surprisingly strong. One of them slugged Umbreon, taking it out of the fight. Two smashed Buck with vicious punches. The fourth knocked Florescence for a whallop. "Damn, for walking corpses, they pack a lot of physical strength!" |
