"I don't like the new one," Charlotte said, pointing at the Juggernaut. "Spitz, be a good dog and unload another super fang! I'll back you up," she told the dog, lifting the shotgun from her coat. It had a decent shine on it, and smelled of cleaner. Charlotte had clearly taken care of it.

Spitz seemed a bit relieved, if also slightly worried, at his master's weapon. He took the dash forward and leaped at the Juggernaut, jaw open ready to crunch down. Charlotte, true to her word, raised the shotgun in the air. Deviating from her word however, she did not raise it at the Juggernaut. She instead raised it at the corpse. She didn't like what the Harpressors were doing. She unloaded both her barrels into the corpse. She wasn't technically lying. She never promised to shoot the Juggernaut. Spitz would faint before he realized it anyways.

Give and take, give and take... Impact was somewhat disconcerted. After their first, successful attack, he had felt rather jubilant. The Ruin's hardest hitters had been eliminated, he himself had cut down a hideous Orbishriek. The reinforcements had dampened his spirits a bit. He was going to take the Kimono's word for it that these things couldn't spawn from Gendoms; They were probably just attacking in waves. Still, pretty huge waves. And annoying. His leg ached, was nearly unusable. Very annoying. But his own sudden lack of use didn't mean he couldn't give orders.

"Keep it together, counter attack! Charlotte, nicely done. I pity your dogs, but very nice. Whitney, paradigm shift and dream eater on the sleeping Orbishriek. Wait a second." He fiddled with his scouter, and, after a moment, managed to get the computer to designate each Orbishriek with a number. The designation would also show up on the other's screens. "Right, that should help. "Whitney, hit the sleeping Orbishriek that's #4. Shizuka, once Spitz and Whitney are done, go for an Apple Splitter. I want to see them all bleed. After that, the rest of you! Kiyomi, hit Orbishriek #1 with your spear, skewer it. Rachel, Metagross' turn again, have it hit the living Atunhand. Pierce, have Metagross hit another Orbishriek, it should be designated as #2. Keep the Meteor Mashes coming. Put that weapon to good use, hit the Atunhand as well. Rayleen, once Pierce has hit it, get Rayquaza to Dragon Pulse again. Hit the Atunhand, please, though if that's dead by the time Pierce is done with it, have Rayquaza split its attack between Orbishriek #1 and #2. I don't want them to survive. Mika... your Juggernaut can taunt, right? Have it taunt the enemy juggernaut, I don't want it hitting us with any of its attacks, or syncstriking. As for myself... Rayleen, thanks for the weapon. I'll put it to good use."

He really was breaking all The Rules here, wasn't he? Not just rules, but Rules, the kind that're taught to you over a year by a brutal military instructor, written in sweat and blood and tears, on a mind wiped blank by exhaustion. The kind that go "NEVER THROW YOUR WEAPON" or "THE UNIT IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT ENTITY ON THE BATTLEFIELD, MAGGOTS" or "DON'T DUAL WIELD!". Don't dual-wield, eh? Sorry, Sergeant Doe. Sorry. He caught Rayleen's gunblade, considered its heft and balance, took quick aim, then pulled the revolver with his left hand and fired a fusillade of speeding, burning lead at the harpressor-carried corpse. "Come on. Go boom. I want big boom."

Shizuka: Apple splitter.
Kiyomi: Attack Orbishriek #1 with spear.
Rachel: Have Metagross hit the Atunhand.
Pierce: Have Metagross hit Orbishriek #2
Rayleen: Have Rayquaza hit the Atunhand. If it's dead already, have it split its attack between Orbishrieks #1 and #2.
Charlotte: Super fang on Juggernaut.
Impact: Dual-wield revolver and fire-damage gunblade, hit the Harpressor-lifted corpse. The fire, plus the impacts, should hopefully be enough to ignite it.
Pierce's personal: Pierce, hit Atunhand before Rayquaza does.
Charlotte's personal: Charlotte uses her shotgun against the Harpressor-lifted corpse, to shake it up a little.
Whitney: Dream eater on sleeping Orbishriek. (#4)
Mika's Juggernaut: Taunt enemy Juggernaut.

Also, we request Renny's mother for support, to heal Impact.

What this'll do:
Hopefully kill Orbishriek 1, 2 and 4. Again, I'd be happy with two out of three possible kills.
Kill Atunhand.
Detonate Harpressor-carried corpse. Should stop them from using it, and, with any luck, deal enough damage to them (along with Shizuka's attack) to kill them
Weaken Juggernaut to, say, 30%, and stop it from doing anything.
Kill the two pre-weakened Raikner (mechanized cavalry was awesome).

Huh. How'd I miss that? Pierce was left wondering after Impact's corrections to his plan. In retrospect, they seemed rather obvious, very hard to miss. How could he not have noticed? Well, maybe it had something to do with the ache on the side of his head where Shizuka had axe kicked him earlier. He shook his head and turned his attention back to the battle.

Their first round had gone well, but the enemies downed were easily replaced. He was thinking about what he should do, who should kill what, until Impact started giving out orders. While he was pondering earlier, Impact had been thinking strategy. Pierce nodded. "Meteor Mash!" He called, pointing at the Orbishriek designated #2.

For himself, he decided to show off a bit. He ran forward, scythe shaft in hand, approaching the only Atunhand. The thing seemed to be made of some gelatinous ooze, so he wasn't sure how effective his strikes would be. The first thing he did was smash the length of the shaft into the ugly thing, then he pulled out and took a swing at its outstretched fingers, hoping to chop some of 'em off. Shizuka had been able to cut one to pieces and it died, so he assumed they Atunhands couldn't pull themselves back together, at least not if they were seriously damaged. He had no bladed weapon, so it'd be harder for him to pull something like that off. He smashed the shaft into it again, trying to wedge the Atunhand open at least a bit, followed by a couple of quick thrusts, and then he smashed into it again, trying to open it further. Finally, he impaled the scythe straight through the Atunhand, and with great effort lifted it off the ground and launched it into the air. He only had a second or two, so he held the scythe shaft like a baseball bat, and swung it just as the Atunhand came down.

Atunhand was going... going... going... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Okay, not really. But it did fly a few feet before it smashed into the ground.

Renny bit his lower lip hard as Togekiss was ganged up on, probably in opponent's fearful response to Snorlax's immense power boost.

"You did wonderfully. I won't let you down. Shaymin! We need your help!"

The leader threw his pokeball into the air where it opened and fell back into his hand. The legendary swooped all around the airspace with a sort of show-offish nature as if antagonizing the pokebrids.

Suddenly, his scouter chimed in with a call. "Renny, could I talk to your mother?"

Renny passed on the scouter.
"Listen, Maria. I know it's foolish to put you in danger, but if Renny doesn't need you, Impact could use a weapon switcher since his leg's been shot."

Maria... was shocked incredibly at the impossible request.
"That's absurd! I can't do that!"
"What did she say?"
"She wanted me to switch to her group. Someone named "Impact" is wounded."
Renny was taken back at the news. They had all the Kimonos as well as Pierce and Charlotte and Impact and they were still having difficulties.
"Mom, give me back the scouter."
"I don't want to go." Maria looked strong and determined to debate this to the end even though her Renny stood a little taller over her.

Renny became frustrated and the pressure of the battle meant he had no time to wait.

"Dormond, Rayleen called! Her team needs help. Maria doesn't want to go and frankly I don't want her to wander the estate herself since she can't defend herself! No offense Mom."
Maria didn't seem terribly disturbed by Renny's evaluation.
"I'm a housewife, not a soldier." She gave back Renny's scouter as her son put it back on his head.
"I know Mum. Can you heal up Matthias? He could use the support." Renny pointed toward the Venomoth pokebrid to clarify to Maria whom Matthias was. He then gave Dormond his full focus.


"Listen, Rayleen need you on the other side. It must be really bad if they need help even with all of those Kimonos present and Rachel is going to be hard pressed to help everyone by herself! Can I count on you?"

Then Renny peered at the battlefield quickly. With several pokemons ready to be knocked out, things could change very rapidly. Dominic spoke up briefly.

"Renny, you mind if I have Snorlax use Earthquake? It's quite... messy."
"That might be exactly what we need. We can always fix the yard up later on. Snorlax, target that big nose and Steelix."
"You heard my son!"
"LAX!"

Snorlax squatted with immense pressure as if he expected to jump absurdly high and come down like a god damn meteor of fat toward the earth.

"Shaymin, divide your Seed Flare among those two normal pokemons!"

"SHAY!" It shone with light that could have very well mimic the sun, dirt and dust from the pokebrid's explosive entry disipated into pure natural energy as both winds shot a powerful explosive seed toward Spinda and Delcatty.

Renny then spoke into his scouter to the rest of the group as he tried to quickly work out the complex web of elemental paper-scissors-rock war.

"Lola, hold on tight and be ready for medical support. We're expecting an earthquake and it's unlikely we'll get through this without a beating. Evangaleen, finish that shark before it attacks! Shannon, grass attack that Sandslash! Moon, you got a Starmie from Shannon recently, right? It would be great if it can use a psychic attack on that Swalot. Harriette, shoot down that Dustox with flying bullets!"


Renny then looked toward Matthias hoping that the pressure of being targetted wasn't getting to him. "Matt, can you put that Magnezone to sleep? I don't want it using Magnet Rise before Snorlax gets the chance to use Earthquake on it, and it's pretty powerful all the same!"

Renny then turned his face, watching his sides.

"Maria, unless I tell you otherwise, keep an eye on our backs when you're not helping! We're pretty busy here and I don't want us to get attacked from behind!"

In response of Rayleen stating that Impact needs support, Renny sends Dormond. Dunno whether it keep its boost or if that was just a wasted move.

Renny summons Shaymin's Flight Mode. Shaymin hits both Spinda and Delcatty with a divided STAB Seed Flare (for about 75% power). 10% chance of flinching and 40% chance of reducing their special defence by 2 stages if they are still around, which I doubt. (I assume it's still daytime and thus Shaymin is still in flight mode?)

Dominic Snorlax to use Max Power Earthquake targeting Probopass for quad effective damage and Steelix for Super effective damage. Hope that the "backlash" will target Flying Shaymin and thus doesn't hit anyone on my side. SUCH INCREDIBLE DESTRUCTIVE POWER! Put the fear in everyone... including our foes. :3

Harriette to shoot down Dustox with Flying bullets. Super Effective

Lola to be ready to heal the person most worst off after everyone on Renny's side finish attacking.

Shannon to attack Sandslash with Leafeon's Leaf Blade for Super Effective STAB damage

Moon to use Starmie's Psychic on Swalot. Super Effective STAB

Evangaleen to use Thunder on Sharpedo. Super effective STAB

Maria to use Full Restore on Matt. Renny tells her to keep an eye on the group's back for their safety.

Renny suggests to Matt to use Sleep Powder on Magnezone.

Matthias hurt badly. If it had just been the toxic and gunk shot he would have been alright for a bit but the burn as well was an unexpected side affect and not at all welcome. Thankfully Renny had given the order to get a Full Restore on him. Hopefully with the snorlax entering the fight, Matthias wouldn't be as much of a target as before. Now however came his order.

Sleep powder on the Magnezone was something he would be more than glad to do. As much as he wanted to finish off that Dustox for using Matthias' favorite technique it could wait. He beat his wings rapidly to build up the dust before sending the cloud at the Magnezone.

Sleep Powder. Good night Magnezone.

[Astral Harmony]

Front Lawn Battle (Ally Phase)
- Renny's Shaymin has defeated Spinda and Delcatty.
- Dominic's Snorlax has defeated Probopass and Steelix. Shaymin avoids damage.
- Harliette has defeated Dustox.
- Shannon's Florescence has defeated Sandslash.
- Moon's Shanelle has dealt Swalot great damage.
- Evangaleen's Raichu has dealt Sharpedo severe damage. Sharpedo is now paralyzed.
- Matthias has put Magnezone to sleep.
- The Morale Integrity Value has decreased to 62%.

Shaymin absorbed a lot of dirt and filth then rushed forward and unleashed it in a violent blast right between Spinda and Delcatty. Shaymin quickly returned, leaving a couple of filthy, unconscious Pokemon.
Snorlax tore the front lawn asunder with an extremely powerful Earthquake. Shaymin, being the closest to Snorlax, was able to avoid becoming the target of Snorlax's wrath. Probopass checked out. Steelix struggled under the shaking earth, and managed to hang on to its life.
"Aw, but I love bugs. Oh-fuckin'-well." Harliette took aim and unleashed controlled bursts of fire with style. She fired her guns just like Sazh did in Final Fantasy XIII. The Dustox ate far too much damage and plunged out of the air like a poorly-made paper plane.

"Florescence, Leaf Blade!"
"Lanturn, return! Shanelle, deploy! Psychic!"
"Shanelle?"
"Sure. You don't mind if I used a nickname similar to yours...right?"
"Ah! No, I don't mind at all! Umm...thank you for giving it a name like mine."
"I'd appreciate it if you two continue your private romantic discussion elsewhere. Raichu, Thunder!"

Sandslash fell forward, downed. Swalot took great punishement, but that was it. Sharpedo was striken badly and paralyzed.
Although there might've been doubts that sleep powder would affect a machine like Magnezone, but apparently some rules still applied. Magnezone clunked to the ground with a solid thud.

Front Lawn Battle (Enemy Phase)
- Bastiodon, Linoone, Ursaring, Torterra, Dugtrio & Toxicroak are deployed.
- Shannon's Florescence, Moon's Shanelle, Evangaleen's Raichu, and Dominic's Snorlax have all been defeated.
- Shaymin was hurt, but Lola healed him completely.
- Magnezone was hurt by Earthquake. Magnezone is asleep.
- Linoone has maximized its Attack with Belly Drum.
- Sharpedo is paralyzed.

To recover from the many losses they suffered, six Pokemon were deployed to replace the five that were lost in one brutal team attack.

"Nice one, kiddo!" Harliette called to Renny. "We're whuppin' ass and fuck the names!"

But now it was the enemy's phase. This could hurt.
Magnezone was put to sleep by Matthias.
Bastiodon used Earthquake. Both Florescence and Raichu were crushed by the assault. Magnezone took a beatdown itself, but that Skarmory Pokebrid didn't seem to care about friendly fire.
Torterra unleashed the Leaf Storm. Shanelle fell to that attack, putting out all three Pokemon of the Evil Eevee Eight.
Dugtrio smashed Snorlax with Earth Power.
Linoone powered up with Belly Drum.
Ursaring hurt Snorlax really bad with Giga Impact.
Toxicroak finished Snorlax with a Focus Blast.
Swalot hit Shaymin with Gunk Shot. Shaymin struggled and Renny saw why. A successful poisoning.
Sharpedo couldn't move. Paralysis, bitch.
Banette set Shaymin on fire with Will-O-Wisp.
Wobbuffet had used a move, but to no avail again.
Xatu hit Shaymin solidly with Aerial Ace.

Lola broke out the items and restored Shaymin to full health. "If we can continue to wipe out their enemy Pokemon and lower their Morale Integrity Value, we'll start getting some breathing room in this fight. Then I can start bringing some of our defeated friends back."

- Charlotte's Spitz has dealt Juggernaut great damage.
- Shizuka used "Apple Splitter". Raikner C & D and Orbishriek A2 have taken critical damage.
- Kiyomi has defeated Orbishriek A2.
- Rachel has dealt Atunhand good damage.
- Pierce's Metagross has dealt Orbishriek B great damage. Pierce's Metagross's Attack increases by one level.
- Pierce has dealt Atunhand great damage.
- Mika's Juggernaut has taunted the enemy Juggernaut.
- Rayleen's Rayquaza has defeated Orbishriek B and has dealt Atunhand critical damage.
- Dormond has defeated Atunhand.
- The Morale Integrity Value has decreased to 78%.

"All evil that stands before me shall stand no longer," Shizuka said with an edge in her voice as keen as the edge she leveled before her foes. The apple was tossed. The apple fell. "Signature Technique...Apple Splitter!" The apple was split. Shizuka's broad stroke cut deeply into three fresh targets. She had mortally wounded them, but someone would still need to finish them off.
Kiyomi whirled her spear and charged the target. Kiyomi surprised Impact with her brutality. Not many people rammed a spear so far into the enemy that a portion of their arm followed it inside. Kiyomi withdrew the spear with one powerful yank, felling the Orbishriek Shizuka had badly wounded and jumping back into formation.
Rachel ordered Metagross to unload the smackdown on the Atunhand. They had to get rid of it fast.
Pierce made sure that they did get rid of it fast. Metagross felt good after putting the Orbishriek into the red. Metagross was so pissed that it was going to hit much harder next time. Pierce's efforts wasn't enough to destroy the Atunhand, but every hit counted.

Charlotte blasted the corpse that was airlifted by the Harpressors. Impact aimed carefully and shot the fire-infused rounds right into the hole Charlotte's shotgun made. The body suddenly caught fire for only a few split seconds before-

BA-BOOM!!!

Meat chunks peppered the ground. The two Harpressors weren't in the sky anymore. "Whoa-ho-hoooh!" Rayleen marveled. "Beautiful, Impact. I'm soaked in entrails and for some reason I like it! Plus, taking advantage of these crucial moments will allow us to lower their Morale Integrity Value that much faster."

"It's time to kick this party off right! Paradigm Shift!"
Whitney's transformation scene wasn't unlike a magical girl transformation. After transformation, a curvaceous Gardevoir stood where Whitney was only ten seconds earlier. "Garde-" Whitney said, extending her arms forward and hooking her fingers as though she was literally trying to claw at the Orbishriek's mind. A strange force pulled something intangible out of the Orbishriek's face and into Whitney's body. "Voir." Whitney sighed.

Mika's glowing Juggernaut turned towards the other Juggernaut. The enemy Juggernaut turned to face it. Then they started to pound on each other mercilessly.
"Rayquaza, you're up! Sweep!" Rayquaza reared back and unleashed a powerful Dragon Pulse that split into two halfway through the air and smacked into the Orbishriek that Pierce's Metagross attacked and the Atunhand. The Orbishriek died, but the Atunhand remained.

When Rayleen swore for not being able to kill the Atunhand, a well-dressed man suddenly erupted out the door and tore the Atunhand to pieces with a Flash Cannon. "Dormond!"
"At your call, my lady," Dormond said, bowing.
"Dormond, Impact's probably going to need an equipment change."
"Of course. What shall I get for Master Impact?"

"Whatever you choose, Impact, we need to send someone over to Renny's side to compensate for Dormond being here. There's too many of us on this side. Send whoever you like."

Back Lawn Battle (Enemy Phase)
- Enemy reinforcements have arrived. There are now two more Orbishrieks (A & B) and two more Harpressors (A & B)
- Mika's Juggernaut has taken small damage.
- Orbishriek D is still asleep.
- Pierce's Metagross and Charlotte's Spitz have been defeated.
- Rayleen's Rayquaza has taken great damage.
- Shizuka has taken great damage.
- Rachel's Metagross has taken great damage.
- Impact has taken severe damage.

More Ruin Pokemon burst onto the battlefield. "There's gotta be an end to them. Just maintain the slaughter."
The enemy Juggernaut attacked Mika's Juggernaut with Slam Fist.
The Orbishriek that Whitney had put to sleep is still sleeping.
The only other Orbishriek and two fresh reinforcements unleashed the bang on Pierce's Metagross and Charlotte's dog Spitz. They were still badly injured from the first assault. Both Pokemon fell before the combined assault.
The Raikners took aim and opened fire. Rachel's Metagross, Rayquaza, and Shizuka took damage from their long ranged assaults.
The Harpressors swooped in. Impact tried to run, but the wound caused him to stagger from pain and then the strange legs of the Harpressor clasped around his legs and lifted him off the ground.
Both Harpressors swooped in and slashed Impact viciously with their strange legs. There were a number of lesser gash marks on his arms, torso, and head, and a dull and manageable pain settled over his upper body and arms.

Then all of the Raikners and Orbishrieks (except for the sleeping one) started glowing. "They're all prepping Syncstrikes," Rayleen said. "That pretty much decides our strategy, then. We've gotta take out all of the Raikners or all the Orbishrieks."

The pain was quite horrible, actually. The Harpressor's slashes weren't that bad, really (though he was losing blood at an alarming rate), but trying to run with his leg? That hadn't been a good idea, not a good idea at all. He was now leaning on the gunblade, waiting for the ache to pass, so he could focus on combat again. He was quite pleased by the result of his previous attacks; just went to show that you didn't need melee attacks (or, for that matter, working legs) to inflict damage.

"They're all prepping Syncstrikes. That pretty much decides our strategy, then. We've gotta take out all of the Raikners or all the Orbishrieks."

"Why not take out both? We still have some... firepower at our disposal. We can use that. And by firepower, Kiyomi, I mean your Raging Raider. Hit..." He sighed. The pain was... making it extremely hard to concentrate on this. "Hit Orbishriek C directly. The spillover should kill Raikner C and D, hopefully destory... I mean... destroy a few corpses as well. Pierce, Rayleen... kill the other four. Six. Two. They're damaged already, right? Take them down. Just watch out for the duck." He paused. This wasn't good. He had been hoping the pain in his leg would decrease, but it seemed to be building. He was getting dizzy as well. Maybe he should... sit? Or, ok, he could lay down as well. Not that he had much choice, his leg was now effectively nonfunctional, and so was is brain. "I think... I'll sit a round out. Dormond, I can take care of myself, you need to fight. Shift. Thingy. Pararadigm shift. Kill Mr. eyeball. Pierce... take over. Try not to get us all killed. And, whatever you do, watch out for the duck. Goodnight."

He collapsed backwards, staying fully conscious long enough to administer a full restore, then closed his eyes. This was the dangerous bit. If he drifted off, now, he'd probably be unconscious for the rest of the battle. No, that wouldn't be good. Let yourself go, be a mind, not a body. But... focus.

[Dracorion]

Pierce felt something scaly snuggling up against his leg suddenly and looked down to find Kingdra. "Draaaaa!" "Hey, where've you been?" Kingdra was just about to tell Pierce about her fantastic adventure: she had jumped into a weird pond an emerged in another world filled with lions and tigers and bears, oh my! And a jerk manatee called Stu, when Pierce suddenly looked up. "Sorry, you'll have to tell me later." Impact had just collapsed after giving some half-assed delusional orders.

"Okay... Impact will be fine, I just saw him use a Full Restore. Still, Nagarai, do me a favor and carry him somewhere a short distance away where he can recuperate without being in danger. And keep an eye on him, please?" Pierce asked Nagarai. She was thrilled to be able to do a favor for Pierce that didn't involve other girls. "Right away Master!" She said happily, running over to Impact, picking him up and carrying him a few feet away, toward the house. Then she laid him on the ground and took up a fighting stance over the unconscious Slayer.

"Alright, everyone... target the duck. That little bitch will kill us all if we don't stop it now."

"Seriously now, everyone, heal yourselves if you can. Whitney, I need you to go over to Renny's side and replace Dormond. Sorry." He added apologetically. "Kiyomi, save your Raging Raider until everyone's attacked, and center it on Orbishriek C. Charlotte, deploy your Arcanine, have it use Dragon Pulse on Orbishriek A. Harriette, shoot down that Linoone with fighting bullets while it's still drained! Whitney, that Toxicroak is doubly weak to Psychic! Evangaleen, finish that Sharpedo! Matt, put that Ursauring asleep! It can't use its ability in that state! Shaymin, Air Slash on that Swalot! Lola, use Low Kick on that Magnezone! It should go down easily to you!"

"TRODE!" No one knows how an electronic device is capable of poisoning a foe, but it somehow attempted to apply powerful toxin on the otherwise ignored glorified punching bag.

Renny watched intently, hoping that the onslaught would unnerve at least a few of them. Maybe then he could press them for answers if he could get them nervous.

On the plus side the enemy team had completely forgotten about his for a turn. Which meant he wasn't getting poisoned and burned again. This was a welcome change. With his luck this probably meant something was going to slam him against a wall again but he could always hope.
