His dad does seem significantly laid back, compared to Nale, but at the same time, Nale has appeared pretty laid back as well. I'm pretty sure the general is still lawful evil, so I wouldn't bank on him being too friendly forever, just yet.

And the general is suddenly far less cool. It's nice that it wasn't the plot twist I expected, but now he just feels like an Elan copy-paste in more ways than one and blergh

In Nale's story he did sound like more of a dick, but it was second hand. Entirely possible Nale took "my wife was too kind for a relentless and horrific war so I left her in a small village" as "I dropped that goody-goody because she was cramping my style".

More suprised it seems he's alot more like Elan. Makes you wonder what the mom was like

No, he's LE.

Remember, the parents split over alignment differences. She's CG so he's the exact opposite.

He's also older and possibly a lot more laid back as a result. Back when he split up with Elan's mother it looked like he was actively at war. Now the Blood Kingdom seems to be well established so he just may not be as bloodthirsty as he was in his younger days.

Are we seriously wondering whether a guy who threw his son's girlfriend out a window just to figure out which son it was and then expected that same son to take his word on the strength of I GIVE YOU MY WORD is Lawful Evil?

EDIT: I predict that when General Tarquin hears that Nale died when Azure city exploded, he'll scoff: "Nobody important ever dies in an explosion." (Elan: "Oh man, that's right! I can't believe I never thought of that!") Then he'll go and die in a huge explosion.

The guys are getting pretty friendly with the lawful evil empire, but wait until news travel over the ocean about what happened to the last country the Order allied with.

Am I the only one that understands that Elan may have gotten a few ideas for barding from his father...
