What about the other points? The gameplay, the fact that I very much doubt this'll benefit the RP or provide any complexity?

We have a good base. It works, it provides for interesting complexity. We have potentially thousands of different enemies, just by mixing up the moveset of our opponents. We're good on the interesting combat.
And if we want, as MEnarker says, "interesting tactics" (though I maintain that he wouldn't know tactics if they bit him in the ass), we can improve the system, rather than bloating it.

Look, I can't stop you. But if you're doing it to improve the RP, you aren't achieving much. If you're doing it to test the system, I'll gladly help, but preferrably not in this RP.

For now, they'll be the only ones. And we'll still have to learn the rules and balance them a little, at least. But if we introduce it, we'll almost certainly keep using it. And if it starts getting widely used, then my arguments suddenly apply again.
