True. I like how each of the girls have been right and wrong in equal measure, and for different reasons.

Like, Rarity's been shown being arrogant or narcissistic, but she's also been shown to be hard-working, generous, and talented. Sometimes in the same episode.

Now, one thing I want to see is for them to actually go to that dang Gala one of these episodes. Stop teasing us with tickets and dresses and such.

Pinkie Pie, I <3 you.

Also I need to find out exactly which one of my current links is going to be deleted in order to make room for sharing and caring.

Also Pinkie Pie why are you always the best
And why aren't those jerks in the audience applauding your incredible performance
At least Spike knows how awesome you are

Arrogance, talent, and hard work are all integrally related to Rarity. Rarity encompasses the artist, and she actually does it well. As has been said, the secret to being a good writer is the opposite of being a good person: you have to believe that you have something of unparalleled importance to say, and you must not stop saying it until everyone listens.

Or like Sondheim's Putting it Together which The Art of the Dress is based on: having just the vision's no solution, everything depends on execution.

I mean, like, totally watch me sperg out, but that's just a sample of the amount of care put into Rarity alone.

Edit: This is also probably why she gets the best songs.

Pinky: Well, she's a bit too... hyperactive for me. But hey, as it's been mentioned before, different people have different tastes. Besides, everyone has that one friend who is just always just a bit random, right?

Rarity: Bit too diva for my liking.

But you know, I can see why people like them though.

Default If only Fluttershy played the trombone.

In terms of music (i.e. singing in tune and not hurting my ears) Rarity has the best songs.

In terms of lyrics Pinkie Pie has the best songs.

That said I haven't exactly found myself youtubing Art of the Dress recently.

(although we all know that Fluttershy sings the best songs, regardless of who wrote them)

But everyone sang Winter Wrap-Up, and we all know that's the best song.

Pinkie Pie shows her inherent superiority in all things musical through her reliance on minimal orchestral instruments to artificially augment her stellar voice. Rarity and the other ponies require full symphonies to mask the humdrum boring nature of their lyrics and their plain vocal inferiority. Pinkie, by contrast, performs directly from the heart, and her lyrical wizardry results with catchy tunes that will stay with you far longer, and then at one point you'll catch yourself silently humming her melodies while preparing questions to a Supreme Court Justice.

Also Pinkie is so adorable.
But honestly I'm glad y'all like other ponies more instead because that means Pinkie is mine, AAAAALLLLLLLLL MINE

...Okay that came off a bit creepier than I intended.

Such blasphemy
Well I've give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that "nails on a chalkboard" is a Fenris euphemism meaning "as gorgeous as a one of Mozart's classical symphonies."
