Because he writes parodies that go beyond, "Hey, this silly word rhymes with one of the words in the chorus of a popular song. Let's just change that one word a-a-a-and done." Which is far beyond what anyone else really did (at least, until youtube). Plus, he's a better singer than some of the nasal-y vocals let one, he plays a lot of instruments, he throws a hell of a concert, and, yeah, he's been putting stuff out every few years since the early eighties.
And he's funny and comes across as a genuinely nice guy.

And funnily enough sometimes the music is better than the song he parodies (Smells like Nirvana is the one that stands out for me).

Ponies are now cool in the Marine Corps. And apperentally in the German Air Force.

A couple hours for the first ones typically. Higher quality stuff comes out like 12+ hours after.

It's been a while since we had any new parody vids, so I bring you these;
Ponies; At Worlds End Van Helsing (Sorry, no witty pun on this one) And to go along with the already known Meet the Engineer starring Applejack, we now have a pretty decent Meet the Sniper vid too. EDIT; In fact it seems there's quite a few of those up now. Some work better than others though.
