Very lovely episode, and it was even very well-animated. I adored the thing they did for Pinkie Pie's checklist.

Is it me or the songs this season are a notch above those of last year? Also, thank God we are moving away from CMC-centric plots.

I'd agree, with the exception of "Winter Wrap Up." That was my favorite MLP: FiM tune until today's "Smile!"

I always thought Winter Wrap-Up was overhyped. There were catchier songs in season one, but again, I didn't like that episode that much.

I'm actually interested that the CMC are doing plots that are entirely separate from any, well, cutie-mark crusading, as it were.

Sure, they still screw up a good deal, but it's nice to see that that isn't all that their friendship (and characters) are good for.

The Big Mac x Cheerilee episode would have been ten times more interesting if we actually got some insight into Cheerliee or Big Mac, though.
...Instead, the episode was dominated by the three personalities who weren't even the centerpiece of the presumed love story, which was unfortunate because I'd prefer giving Big Mac and Cheerilee the screentime as opposed to letting the CMC hoard it

...This episode was so amazing I'm willing to overlook all faults, though.
Objectively speaking, and my Pinkie Pie fanboyism aside, it wasn't the best Season Two episode, but it was damned close.
Subjectively speaking the episode was BESTEST EVER PINKIE IS SO ADORABLE Y'ALL

the H&H episode was them playing matchmaker. That's all.

Though I had to laugh a bit, as Dashie was just there, reading.

Hell, aside from that one song number which involved basically the entire town... she was basically like this.

My problem with the CMC isn't so much their personalities as it is the fact that we haven't had a proper Fluttershy episode this year yet. >
