I like the characterization here. I know this is a weird thing to say but the way they interact just feels right.

Also, nice job explaining why he didn't instantly get his powers back the moment Misaki died, was wondering how they were gonna get around that. I'm guessing the moment his powers returned was about the time Ichigo got that charm that saved Kon. Which if I recall correctly was right before he went to soul society.

I dont think this is a retcon (by which I mean I think this was intended) mostly because her death never made any sense. Why did the hollow leave Ichigo alive at all for example.

My opinion will change instantly though if Grand Fisher didn't kill her this would create plot holes like how him and Urahara were talking about how he killed her and how that was supposed to be how Ichigo got fullbring

He stole her powers. Which rendered her defenseless at the worst possible time. Also oh shit I didn't know "he" ended up switching sides. Though this might be Kubo trying to sit up "his" destined battle against Ichigo. Of course "he" might be working as a double agent. Otherwise "his" reason for joining would make no sense.
