I only just started getting them now. Check your profile on steam, then click on the phrase "LEVEL (number goes here)" at the top right corner of the screen. It should show you all the games you own which offer trading cards. Just start playing said games, and you have a chance for Steam to spit a random group of trading cards at you. I don't know what they are or what they do, but apparently now I have them.

So far I've only got Zero and Maya (x2) from Borderlands 2, and Dawn, Hestia, Fish Force and Jim from Rain-Slick 4.

Its one of the challenges, if you manage to survive intersecting 4 Destroy lands and 4 Destroy creatures, all while causing damage to you, then the AI only has lands so you can keep on building up forever, testing your deck freely.

That's how i learned to stack my Troll to an easy Trample 25/20 on turn 4-5

Downloading now. I was kind of interested in the game when it come out, but didn't want to pay full price for it so it'll be nice to try the game first hand for free.

edit- Holy fuck, you can get the Sonic Franchise pack for $7.50, which is the same price as just getting Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed. This feels like it's an oversight.
