Congratulations to both of you. I don't really have any ideas to contribute as my ideal wedding probably differs greatly from yours, but I wish the two of you the best.

Totsu - unfortunately, time is not on our hands. Because of the distance apart and the legal difficulties with working situations, we have to be wed soonish. And Shiney will have only been here for a month when that comes into effect. Though I've had to put up with him enough during his visits. I know he's the goofball for me.

Wow, getting married is like, whoa. I still can't even fathom the possibility myself, its kind of strange how people of similar ages are of varying maturity levels.
When and if I ever bite the bullet, I'd like to have a very informal ceremony. I'd do it somewhere outside with a few seats and a big cake, with a live band and a dance floor. I'd probably leave for the honeymoon right after the ceremony too, and let someone else clean up the mess! I'm sorry I can't be any help for wedding ideas, but I'd like you to know I think marriage is one of the bravest things anyone can do. Devoting yourself to a union of two people is big news, and I know I don't have the courage to do it. Bravo Rai and Shiney, you crazy lovebirds you! |

Congratulations! The best of luck and well wishes to you both.
As for ideas...I am really not good at coming up with ideas, so I think you'd be better of not hearing any ideas from me. BTW...England is not really that far...Or expensive...BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!

Anydangway, Congradulations Shiney and RaiRai (as I've said countless times before.) My advice is this: On the issue of the Cake; I am not going to come out and yell "CHOCOLATE!" or anything. My advice is go to several different Bakeries, tell them that you wish to get a wedding cake, and ask if you can get a few samples. They should range from Free to a few pounds for a slice. Get ten or so and sit down with shiney with a plate of crackers. Sample each cake, then eat a cracker to cleanse your Palate. Whichever one you like the best, go with that.

Uncommonly common.

You should announce the time/location of the wedding, that way the entire NPF forums can descend upon it like a giant horde of locusts.
With anime t-shirts.

As far as cakes go, I have to go with the minimalist theory on this one. Clearly, you two aren't heirs to the Heinz fortune, so you might wanna go simple. Take into account how many people you are inviting, add 5% of cake for people who eat alot, and order something that big and no bigger. Honestly? You won't remember the cake 2 years from now unless you take a picture of it. My sister got married, we took a picture, and to this day no one remembers what it looks like and nobody really cares.
In fact, I would say go minimalist the whole way through. Alot of people like the whole big fancy things, but theres something to be said for going minimal. Don't rent a church for the wedding, go to a courthouse or something so you can spend more money on the reception (or the other way around, depending on whats more important for you). People like to be extravagent these days. If you really want your wedding to stick out in their mind, go simple. If you decide to rent the church out, don't go for the whole gigantic lace at the end of each pew. Stick a small, simple, but noticable ribbon on each. However, it is almost every bride's dream to deck out something. So do so, you'll have plenty of money saved up from going minimalist elsewhere |

Haha, anyone is welcome to turn up at our wedding, in fact, if anyone is within the UK and wants an invite, we'd be happy to send one. Only problem is, we can't house guests. We want some alone time on our wedding night, if ya know what I'm sayin'.
