Maybe Black Mage can use Ice magic. He's used his patented Hadoken (to which I'll assume is Light-based), and variants of said ability (Fighterdoken, Boatdoken, etc.). He's got Bolt-2. He's got Feather Fall. He's used hypno vision on Fighter once. He's definitely shown a mastery of all things that burn, blow up, and/or transfer gallons of acid into the internal organs of targetable innocent victims, like Cornerian Guardsmen. I wonder what he'll have something up his robes this time around?

He also has Fire-3 and Heat Vision, though I suppose they're inapplicable versus a fire fiend.

While BB is an expert in ass-kickery, I think he's gonna get it handed to him-- it wouldn't be the first time. Remember the Creep outside Matoya's cave? Besides, Kary seems much more adept than Garland, and that tentacle thing was only beaten after an act which can only be described as Cthuloid-on-human rape.

This is one of the funniest episodes I've seen in a long time. It has three great lines:
"She seems reasonable. Let's Reason with her with our reason."
"Black Belt, stop her with your violence."
"With Gusto!"

Is it just me or has there been a slight reversal of rolls between BM and WM here.

as for the Lich - kary power difference, it was mentioned that kary must be more powerful because she lives in a volcano surrounded (at one time) by countless hordes of monsters, whereas lich lived in a suburban home with an angsty teenager and a stereotypical wife.

it should be noted that Lich likely lived in a house because he's sure of his power, whereas kary needed six defense rings from sunday.

Actually, I doubt it was beaten. It was used solely for the tentacle/male organ joke (I asked Brian, so I know it as fact). Besides, it was a sprite of Kraken (Also used solely for the joke), so that makes me REALLY I doubt it was beaten...

Anyway, funny as hell.

Couple of points:

Yes at this point :bbelt: shouldn't be using weopeans, but for halairty purposes they are allowed. Plus that is a kick ass sprite SWB. As others have points out, hadoken is NON-ELEMENTAL. I can't stress this enough. It is not fire, lightning, light, dark etc based, it has no element.

I wonder when :thief: will reappear, and with any hope, save the day for his fellow LW, and speaking of when is he going to bind :wmage: and :bbelt: into the contracts along with the rest of the party?

Would've thought he would have done this by now....suckers.

The Lich was by far the more dangerous foe. He couldn't be killed because he was undead and his soul placed within the Earth Orb. That is a far more dificult challenge than a six armed sword-wielder with an affinity for fire magic. Also, her need to kill minions as a method of asserting her power denotes weakness of character that the Lich's confidence in settling down to have a familly doesn't.

But maybe I'm reading a bit too much into things.

At any rate I'd say Hadoken is out of the question because:
(A) BM wants the Fire Orb to attain even greater power from Sarda. Damaging it could jeapordize this.
(B) It is somewhat likely that he has used it in the attempt on his frien... traveling cohorts' lives at Gorgu. So its all used up for today.
(C) He would risk inflicting harm on WM which is definitely out of the question if he wants a little somethin'-somethin' from her. Which he does.

Precisely. WM ends up having to do this when the LWs (Especially BM, who points it out in an obvious manner) show their maximum incompetence. Therefore, she tells BB to kick the crap outta the villain in a way he'd understand.

I've always thought WM justified it because it was (A) Not her being extremely anti-pacifist (b) BB's job is to basically kill anything (barring spiders) who would threaten the mission, i.e. WM (C) the old WM standby of "It was destined"
