Now of course you are going to have to come up with a hit modifier now. If you are using the swing attack it should be higher, because odds are good you will hit something, but damge should be lower for this type of attack, unless you thorw a test to see whether you hit wih the flat or the edge of the sword.

There are several ways one could make the sword chucks work. For one thing, in response to it landing with the flat side, this would never happen if the unheld sword was designed aerodynamically so that it would change its angle based on which direction it's moving. The advantage of dual-handed sword-chucks over dual swords and one sword is its versatility, and the increased number of angles and ways to attack from, meaning more stuff your opponent has to defend against.

The way this would work is if you have a broadsword-type double-edged sword chained to an aerodynamic single-edged sword. You hold the base of the broadsword, and there are two sets of moves based on how you hold the broadsword.

If you hold the BS (broadsword) projecting out from the thumb side of your hand, you can have full use of the BS's for attacks and blocks, so you have just as much capability as someone with a sword in each hand. These would be used if the enemy is using heavy armor. However, this limits your power and ability to swing the AS (aerodynamic sword), and it is way too difficult to spin the AS's around in deadly circles in this position, coming out of the back of your hands. However, there are still a few things you can do with them in this position, like the snap-swing, which uses a sharp snap of your wrist and forearm moving forward and across your body to quickly swing the AS up into a sideways blow. You can use this move horizontally, like I just described, or vertically, where you snap the AS upward. One combo move that is possible in this position, which Fighter demonstrates in comic #474, is something I like to call the double lunge. In the double lunge, you give the AS some momentum in whatever direction, then lunge with the BS, and right after the lunge, even if you miss, the AS swings at the enemy and probably catches him if he dodged the lunge.

The second position is where you hold the BS projecting out from the back of your hand. In this position, your use of the broadswords is limited and largely confined to just blocking, but are fairly effective at blocking. However, you have full ability, and a lot more power, of using the AS's. For one thing, you can have SPINNING BLADES OF DOOM! Just point your palms up, with BS's in front of you across your waist, and twirl those AS's away. Use the twirling to build up momentum, then swing one at them powerfully, putting your body into it. (You can change the angle of the blow from vertical to any angle you want after you take it out of its twirl.) Make sure you hit something, either him or his swords, or you will kill yourself. Seriously. Also, be careful where the BS's go. You can also make normal swings of the AS's, without the spinning buildup. You could use this move in any direction, just be careful where you hold the BS's while you swing the AS's. The only way the BS's are offensively effective in this position is if the enemy or enemies are close and to your side(s), not directly in front of you. In this situation, you can sidestab them with your BS's.

The spinning blades of doom can also be done holding the AB's and swinging the BS's but it takes much more muscle to control. However, very few things can stay intact after being hit by this. Armor would be crushed, limbs would be hacked clean off, and torsos would be split in two. There is the chance that the broadsword may hit the enemy with a flat side, but that depends on how aerodynamic the broadswords are made.

Also, in either position, you can do a move that disarms your opponent of a sword. You swing the chain around the enemy's weapon, and yank it away. At the very least, unless this person is holding two or more swords, it leaves them defenseless to your other swordchuck.
