Stranger in a strange land.

You and your dark poems, Squall. =Þ Here's another of mine. ^^
"The Burning Path" A burning path, with ice inside, One more failure, I will not ride. I'll have to walk the burning path, And face the cold's unnerving wrath. The burning pain, the numbing cold, All of this had been foretold. I grimace through it all the while, Just another hellish trial. My life's temptations set before me, Drinking, drugs, things abhorring, Calling to me; give up the fight! Ignore it, stick with what is right. The burning path now starts to clear, See all the things I hold most dear, My love, my family, and my friends, I see this burning path's own end. They welcome me with open arms, They're all real; no false alarms. Finally at the end of the path, I made it through; look back and laugh.

One spider sits among it's web
Spinning each and every strand Though this pretty inspiration Of woven delight has it's own purpose And it observes other peoples threads Connections and conversations Of interwoven thoughts and dreams They move together and bare themselves Open to the sorrows of the world Personified is this arachnid Who's name itself proclaims arrogance The very descendent that argued with the gods themselves Surviving the day at hand The spider relies on others to live It takes and some say it doesn't give Except a show of it's woven masterpiece Much like people do everyday They take and some say don't give Except the one thing that we all have The tapestry of life we create One day at a time. |

Hey, nice work BMG!
Vowels: irresponsible, illogical, and insubstantial: all ascend into advocations of insight, intolerable idiocracy, and ovacious utterings. intense adolencent increments insinuate our overally ignorant ideas, outsourcing individualistic abstractions. Enviromental oglicharies elevate evangilists into opulent opponents of argumentative epiphanies. [Edit: Try saying that 10x fast!]

(I tried icythaco....that hurt my tongue @_@)
Quite puzzled I am by this This one man has shown his face Arrogant, pompous, always right He was punished for his false pride And his leave of absence Ended, he came back to the world Mingled in the crowd and decided To not forcefully voice his views Such a strange thing this is For even though it is known That you can change yourself Never was it done this quickly Has he changed? Is this real? Did he lose that mask of false conceit? Or rather, is this a mask of itself And now he wants to 'fit in' With everyone else? This I have yet to figure out Maybe I just didn't look deep enough Was I just seeing that mask And not the person behind it? |

Vulture
The vulture lands to pick apart its prey, Crimson envy lurking as the feathers spray, Vicious little creature whos eyes roll to black, Claws rip into flesh as the whip begins to crack, Crack, whip, crack and let the blood flow free, Spiteful little vermin that cannot even see, Cackles as the blood spatters on the ground, Dry desert wanderer seeking to be found, Now nothing but a corpse in a sea of sand, Tried to find its way through the bitter hostile land, But met with uncertain and possible doom Waited as the thunder clouds overhead did loom And the rains came crashing down, a thousand a time Took to her wings, to find her home sublime but burnt by the lightning, their perch now destroyed Destined to fly forever, in this sandy void No longer will the prey fall foul of your sweet game You'll never feast upon their flesh, never ever again And as you lay their dying, rain upon your beak You'll wish you never touched them, as your end you meet.

Now who could you be talking about, BMG? *rolls eyes sarcastically*
Voices: -change is an abomination- -but keep in mind the degridation- -we just want things to remain as they were- -change is the key to our survival- -I disagree, what about taking comfort in- -no, we don't, that is just an illusion- -but without change the world cannot- -don't go there, it will lead to- -no it won't, to adapt is in our nature- -but what we really want is for tomorrow to be the same as yesterday- -without adapting, our extinction is imminent- -humanity resists change, sometimes forcefully- -they must learn to change, or be left behind- -you cannot convince them to go against their- -but change doesn't happen in one generation: it happens every generation- -once they grow up, they'll resist change too- -but each one tries to rebel from their parents, so each generation is always a little- -difference is not what I'm against, just the- -the time of sameness is over, we are due for a little difference- -but the world is not ready -it's over, you can't stop the oncoming- -We cannot stop- -the tide of- -the storm of- -change- -change-

Ok, My girlfriend said that I could post her poems, so I'll post some of them. She wrote this one this morning after finding out her parents said that she couldn't come and stay with me during the Christmas Break.
Don't Touch Me: All because of you My Dream can't come true I wanted to be with the one I love I even looked for a sign from above You don't understand What it feels like to hold your heart in your hand To watch your dreams rain down upon you To watch my life turn cold heart blue I really can't breathe So just watch me as I leave I'll fade away Because you forced me to stay You're keeping me away from the one thing I want most of all You had me standing up now you're watching me fall I gave you my trust You turned it to rust You put hope inside my heart Now you tore it all apart I just don't comprehend How can you do this to me again Betraying your own flesh and blood and life You stabbed my dreams with a dagger knife I'll never be able to have faith again inside Now I'll go back to my corner and hide Let me be And don't touch me...

I wanted to do a christmas poem.... But then there are already so many... So I ended up writing one that is kind of weird. And here it is.
Holiday shopping and holiday care, and holiday fever fills up the air. It's Christmas eve, and all through to town, the bustle of shoppers running around. And then all at once, as if by a spell, the stores are all closed, not the sound of a bell. The people are go home to await the next day, where kids will awake to new toys and new play. Uncommonly quiet, the lights are all out, and noone's awake now, noone's about. Fat man in the sky, in a magical sleigh, lead by some reindeer, to outrun the day. Gone like a phantom after stealing some milk, and cookies to he has managed to pilf. Left behind are some boxes of color, and bow, within each of these yet nobody knows. Awake early morning, the kids run downstairs, tearing through presents, a mess? Well who cares? Then later a dinner, with all family, and silly traditions that stupify me, And finally it comes, the time I like best, where everyone stops to just sit down and rest. We sit by the fire and bask in its light, enjoying the moment, which lasts long into night.

Let's see if you can figure out who this poem is about.
Just one more tear, just one last prayer, Her voice has lifted me; prepare. Startling looks, wondering glance, This kind of thing is not by chance. In the flowerbed below, I find myself alive, and so I get up slowly, wince in pain, The girl helps me, once again. We escape, meet at her place, We lost them clean, without a trace. Then back to my place of rest, On my way, she pried in jest. This one girl; special to me, Opened my eyes, set me free. Across the world I will now go, To save her from my darkest foe. Through my sleep, a whispered word, Said so quiet, yet still I heard A sacrifice she would soon make, Done for us all, the planet's sake. That holy place, I finally reach, Within is darkness, it's been breached. I find her there, prayer now ending, Something is now glowing, sending. Her prayer's been heard by greater wills, She smiles; destiny fulfilled. Darkness descends, she looks at me, Opened my eyes, and set me free.

I ran a mile back at dawn
What it was from I’ll never know The soles on my shoes kept falling off It made me go just a little slow I’m still not sure where to go Been running in circles all day I’m out of breath and feeling sick I need somewhere where I can lay I’ve been running in the rain If I ever stop I’ll catch a cold Before you know it’ll start to snow And I’ll be running while the wind blows I’m not running anymore I’m not running anymore My legs are so very sore So I’m not running anymore My feet feel just like stones Gravity has taken its toll My shoes fell off a mile back Exhausted is my soul No more running for me I’m so tired I can’t breathe The one behind me is catching up But I don’t even care if they can see me I don’t care anymore I don’t care anymore I don’t know what I was running for So I don’t care anymore |
