Translating
I am a native spanish speaker (a south-american one), modern languages student (English and French) and regular DM. I can help those who are in need of anykind of spanish related help, including but not limited to: Slangs, Idiomatic Expressions and things in general.
I caught this as I was reading the post and I decided to translate it: Dos Corazones - Two Hearts Siempre quisistes ser otro mas You always wanted to be another one. Ahora, tu suegnas realidad Now, you dream reality Sales a escena, eres immortal You go on stage, you are immortal Ahora, te sientes seguro de ti. Now, you feel sure of yourself Inventastes tu propio amor You invented your own love Tu carigno verdadero Your true affection Amor que ellos no te dieron, amor solo tuyo Love that they didn't give, love only yours Amor solo tuyo Love only yours Amor solo tu y ya Love only yours and that's it Hablas con alguien, el esta aqui You talk with someone, he is here. Alguien sincero, solo para ti Someone sincere, just for you Pero tu sabes que el quiere mas y no comprendes la realidad But you know he wants more and you don't understand reality. Inventastes tu propio amor... You invented your own love Tu le dices que no lo haga You tell him not to do it El se rie con tu voz, He laughs with your voice Tu gritas, You scream Agonizas y te arrastras por el suelo You agonise and crawl through the floor Nadie sabe lo que paso Nobody knows what happened Habra otras manos, otro amor There'll be other hands, another love Sales a escena, eres immortal You go on stage, you are immortal Inventastes tu propio amor... You invented your own love. I put GN instead the letter EGNE, that this forum seems not to have, because it is the French form ofsaying the same sound like in "Champagne". Quieres decir la ñ? Ñ ñ Ñ ñ. Eñe.
If you can't see it, try changing your character encoding. I believe the forums are on Unicode (UTF-8). Also, that was a darn good translation. And, if your keyboard is the problem (I doubt it for a fellow South American, but...) the code is Alt-164 for lowercase, and Alt-165 for uppercase.

Giving answers to a "Hi"
Well, I certainly have problems with stresses too. I'll change it, to a less literate yet more understandable way.
Was it good? I feel better now, thanks for the feedback. And I think there is no need for the Alt-Thing (I am an extremely simple computer user) because I have.. the Ñ.. does it work? |

Say, could you help translate some basic chat slang for me? (compile a list with anything that you consider basic, and either PM it to me or post it here at your discretion, if possible)(and, however much of a moron I may be, I understand lol, IMO, IMHO, BTW, and ROFL, but that's it. Yes, I need to get out on the web more often.....) And, I've got a 1337 question. to say is 1 the letter I or the letter L? as in, UB3R 133T 4DM1N (uber leet admin) the number 1 is used twice. Is that "grammatically correct" or not?
And, Anaris, I'll say it again, it was good. Awesome. And I doubted a fellow South American would not have the ñ, but, I know I sometimes wish I didn't.... (I'd rather an english keyboard, one capable of, you know, putting up the console for HL2, maybe....) I still thought I'd say it, though, just in case. BTW, I live in Ecuador, and my parents are Honduran. Where are you from? And, If anyone is wondering, in my school, every single class is in English except the Spanish class. That's how I keep a nice, smooth, accent-less (or so I've been told, by Americans) English.

As I said somewhere already, it seems very serious compared to the band's other work, but it certainly makes sense.

I'd say in 1337 you can pretty much make a number whatever you want as long as it still looks like the original letter.
Anyways I don't really think it matters because 1337 is an internet language of nonsese and insanity. It is mostly used by n00bz wh0 n0 im g0nn@ pwn t3hm.

Could I get someone to tell me if the following bit from O'Fortuna is Italian or Latin? I assume it's Italian because it's from an opera, but I want to make sure.
O Fortuna,..............(O Fortune) velut luna...............(like the moon,) statu variabilis.........(you are changeable,) semper crescis.........(ever waxing) aut decrescis;.........(and waning vita detestabilis.......(hateful life) nunc obdurat...........(first oppresses) et tunc curat...........(and then soothes) ludo mentis aciem,....(as fancy takes it egestatem,..............(poverty) potestatem .............(and power) dissolvit ut glaciem....(it melts them like ice.)

I'm mostly sure it's latin. The -em suffix looks like a give away.
Edit: 99.9% sure

Gorefiend, I hail from Venezuela. I bribe everyone making them think that I study languages but I actually play tons of English games and that's how I mainly got this language, as a lot of people have.
The operas can be in any language, but they are mainly Latin and Italian. That one, as it has been said, is Latin. It is O Fortuna, made by Carl Off or some subject with a similar name, the song sonata used for.... a myriad of movies. |
