Alright, as the title said, I've done this RP before. Twice, actually. The first time, it was completed. So...yay. The second time, I was forced to end it prematurely due to some unforseen circumstances. But now, by popular demand (and a few PMs from some interested people), I recreate this classic from the old forums.

The story is as follows:

The RP is set in a feudal Japan setting. Over a thousand years before the current RP takes place, the Demon King Talkatz decided that he no longer just wanted to rule the underworld and the demons which inhabited it. He wanted to rule the human world as well. So, he and his army of demon soldiers moved into the human world and started to take over. Now, as could be guessed, the humans didn't like that too much. They fought back, but no fight they ever fought ended well. A great turning point in the battle happened when a demon and a human worked together.

A demon blacksmith in Talkatz's forges was not there by choice. He didn't want to have any part of the fight. However, he was one of the greatest divine sword artisans that the demon world had to offer. As such, the demon king took his family hostage, and forced the demon to work for him. One day, a human samurai named Tama Genkai was wandering the wastelands, searching for any means to destroy the demon interlopers. In his travels, he fell into a deep hole, and landed in the demon forgers. The demon blacksmith and human samurai met, exchanged stories, and came up with a deal. The demon blacksmith would forge a sword of untold power, and Tama would use it to destroy Talkatz. Then, the human world would be safe, and the demon would get his family back.

After several months of forge work, rune work, and searching for the rare materials needed, it was finished. From a mix of demon forge and human purification magic came the birth of the Raigaki, the Sword of Light. Tama took the sword, and began to fight his way to Talkatz's lair. Along the way, he managed to collect a small group of followers, each special in their own way. When they reached the Demon King's lair, they were expected. There was a large army of demons waiting for them. The entire army was slaughtered before the might of Tama and his followers. The problem was Talkatz's elite demons, the Weapon Altmas. They each specialized in a demonic weapon, and to get Tama inside to fight the demon king, his followers sacrificed themselves to destroy the Weapon Altmas. Once inside, Tama faced Talkatz in battle, and almost defeated him. Before he could be fully killed, Talkatz separated his soul from his body and escaped. Tama left the lair, and went home. He then hid his sword in a secret place, so that if or when the Demon King returned, the sword would be ready for its new owner to wield it. Well, it's a millenia later, and Talkatz is up to his old tricks again. And Kurama Genkai, a distant descendent of Tama, is leaving home with an ancient blade at his hip...

A fun twist in this RP is that we have both good guys and bad guys. The bad guys will help add in some character to the other side. And they don't always lose. They might run in and steal something the good guys were going to get, and then the good guys will have to run after them. However, an important thing. THE BAD GUYS WILL LOSE AT THE END OF THE RP. At the end of the RP, you will either go down with your master, or convert to the good guys. And also, this is a mostly fighting RP. So, there will be at MOST two mages on each side. The rest will use melee fighting.

Also, your character needs a special skill they can use in a fight. It can't be something like "I'm a great swordsman!". It's the feudal era. If you aren't a swordsman, you're dead. But if you can, say, set your blade on fire with your mind so that it both burns and cuts, well that's pretty damn special.

As an example, here's mine.

Name: Kurama Genkai
Side: Good
Race: Human
Age: 23
Appearance: Long black hair that's tied back into a pony tail. Stands about 6'2", with a lean muscular build. Wears standard samurai clothing, but no armor. Wears sandals, and his sword hangs from his left hip. His sword has three runes on it's blade, and it's almost always glowing with a soft light.
Weapons: The Raigaki, an enchanted katana. If a demon even touches it, it will burn them.
Special Skill: Unlike the other characters, Kurama has more than one special skill, and he will continue to gain more as the RP progresses. It's not necessarily that HE'S gaining the skills. It's more like the sword is leveling up. At the beginning of the RP, he has the following:
-Kama: Launches blades of light from his sword.
-Simpo: Kurama jumps high into the air, much higher than a normal human could ever hope to jump. Then, using the momentum of his fall, he points the tip of his sword down and pierces through a target.
-Dangik: Very destructive. Kurama swings downward with his blade, sending a very large, very powerful blast of light energy flying forth. And no, I'm not copying the Windscar from Inuyasha. I thought of it before they did, so if anything, they're copying me.
History: When he was around 5 years old, Kurama saw a ghostly figure. The figure led him to a hidden grotto, and it was there that he found an old rusted piece of metal that had once been a sword. When Kurama picked it up, the sword burned off the rust and shone like the day it first left the forge. After that, his life was dedicated to becoming a strong fighter, so that he could finally defeat the Demon King. Because of this, he didn't have a very eventful life up to this point.

So, everyone only gets one special skill, while Kurama gets three (Plus more later)?

Well, I suppose you could always have your special skill be Destroy World or something.

Name: Vance Prakis

Side: Good

Race: Quarter daemon

Age: 80, apparent age 27

Appearance: A man in the prime of his life. The only hint to his daemon heritage are black markings running from his neck and down his shoulders to his hands. They are often assumed to be tattoos. He wears conforming black pants, the legs tied up at mid shin length. He wears a black vest and has a red belt on. He carries his weapons on each side of him. He wears a metal thick metal collar around his neck to protect it (remove able).

Weapons: Twin Hook-swords (I swear theres a better name but I can't find it)

Special Skill: Immortal, in the Highlander sense. He heals all wounds in a couple hours unless a gland in his chest is destoryed. And of course if you do something to him that will kill him, He'll die until his body heals itself. Just like in the Highlander TV show.

History: His grandfather was a daemon that fell in love with his human Grandmother. They had a daughter who became corrupt dispute the love shown by both her parents. She eventually desired a child and took a man as her lover (before promptly killing him) and gave birth to her Son Vance. He grew up in the corruptness of his mother and came to despise daemons and humans alike. He understood his mothers contempt for them but came to dispose the daemon disregard for life even more. He trained himself in the use of the Hook-sword, And killed his mother when he was 40. Sense then he has done nothing but seek to perfect his fighting style.

(Up to Raiden) He Encountered Kurama at a crossroads. Sensing that he was a man destined for great things he challenged him to a fight to the death, refusing to let him pass until he was defeated. They battled and Kurama cut Vance in half. When Vance regenerated he went after the man Seeking him out and challenging him again. This time he lost with a sword through his heart. When he came to again he hunted down Kurama a third time. This time offering his services to help the man in his great quest. No matter what it was. The fact that it was to slay the Daemon kind only made him all the more willing to follow. He is now Kurama's Protector and companion on the quest to protect the world.

Extra: This character will probably be "killed" a lot. and die at the end of the Rp. He is Noble and will always stay true to his word.

You know, this is supposed to be set in feudal Japan 1000 years ago. Vance Prakis as a name is going to be weird.

You know, I'm seeing a lot of oppurtunities to pull a "Deadpool" or an "Agent X" except that they could regenerate their heads.

Like when Cable blew off Deadpool's head three times in the same comic. Then Deadpool blew off Cable's head a few times. It went back and forth a bit.

Mintaro-You're good. And, through the begging and pleading of SS, I will alter your guy a bit. Instead of "I can live through anything but a head shot", we're going to give you a special gland. It will be placed somewhere between your chest and your gut. It's that gland that gives you the ability to regenerate. As such, you cannot truly die unless that gland is pierced. So, your head can be cut off. SS, have fun with it.

IHMN- You know, you've never brought that up before. You raise a good point... Oh well. Wha'eva'! I do what I want!

Also, this is just a little quirk for me. The past two versions of this, one of the RPers decided to be a demon that, for some reason or other, were sworn to be the guardian of Kurama until the demon king was slain. The first one it was J Man, the second time it was Dante. Now, if Dante doesn't want to do it again, someone else will have to do it.

I don't wanna regenerate my head. Cause I want my character to have a cool dramatic death fight, possibly against his grandfather. Also Vance isn't a real name, in any culture. Therefor it works for all.



Edit- ok so long as I CAN die.

Edit again - You know thats sorta what my character is, although I wouldn't object to someone else taking the role more fully.

But then the RP will just turn into Kurama killing everything. Good guys will be useless, bad guys will be pwned. Then it will end like the first RP, where everyone just leaves because Kurama is doing everything.

Well I think the whole point of this rp seems to be this. The DM is the main character of the story. It is everyone elses job to be the cool side character. Sense the story revolves around Kurama. You just have to have as much fun with you character as you can. Make a character that you can goof off with and leave the hard stuff to the legendary hero.

Although I can be totally off base but that seems how it would be most fun. Thus the constantly dying immortal.
