Big Boss was missing an eye too, as per Ocelot's comment to Solution Snake about looking just like Big Boss. Since Snake was a clone of Big Boss, it'd certainly explain why he looked like a younger version of BB. Personally, I expect a kick-ass storyline that will start to tie the threads of all the prior Metal Gear stories, and make sense of the jumbled mess that is Metal Gear. Sky Warrior Bob

This doesn't have much (Anything) to do with MGS3, but it does involve MGS2... Who's arm did Ocelot take to replace his?
My guess in Twin Snakes is you'll learn a lot about future plans mainly, and back stories to the older characters...

Ocelot took Liquid's arm to replace his lost one, which explains...
Well, I'll give a wee bit of a spoiler space... 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. Which explains why Ocelot occasionally acts like Liquid & has his voice. Its because he's being possessed by Liquid's ghost, or some psuedo techno explaination that has yet to be made. Oddly enough, Liquid's dead body also got used as a replacement for Snake, so when the tanker section of MGS2 comes up, Solid is still considered dead. Why is is that I see some sort of weird Weekend at Bernie's parody based off of this? Sky Warrior Bob

I heard that Snake Eater is taking place in the 60's. Anyone else think that the Metal Gear Series has the most confusing storyline of any series? SWB, you know a little too much about this series. I'm on to you...
I am.

Actually, there was a GBC or GB Metal Gear game, basically it was MGS on the GB. Consider this analogy:
MGS(GB):MGS(PS1)::MG2(NES):MG2(MSX) I think. Not sure, but it had some of the same Foxhound guys in it. As for Snake Eater, all I know is I've seen AK-47's and a jungle. Maybe early 'Nam? I would have sent Big Boss to train those South Vietnamese if I were Kennedy. Or just to kill a buncha Charlies. |

Anyway, do *NOT* dare compare MG2(NES) to MG2(MSX). Metal Gear 2 (NES) had lots of goofy named characters (whose profiles looked like kids), had *SIDESCROLLER* bits, hardly concentrated on stealth, and a really *STUPID* plot. MG2 for the MSX, took MG for MSX and threw more plot elements. Added the use of the radar, ability to crawl, plus new weapons & baddies to fight. It also have a more developed story than MG1, as well as a better developed radio system (like in Metal Gear Solid, when you made a transmission, you usually got a response, and there were a number of people you could contact regularly). Well, I was wrong. No need to get hostile; I was going off the top of my head. I had read a couple of bad reviews, so I just thought it was bad.

I wasn't trying to be nasty to you, but just get it across that MG2 for NES, is really a very bad game not deserving of the name Metal Gear. In fact, Metal Gear 1 really is outshined by Metal Gear 1 MSX, both in visual quality, as well as game mapping (you're rarely left with the 'where do I go now?' syndrome you get with the NES version).
