My essay about homosexual and transgendered characters... is done!
A while ago I asked for help regarding an essay I was working on. I finished it yesterday, so I thought I should share it with you guys, since you helped with my research. So, here you go! What do you think?

Not bad, but some minor points:
The "Flea is a man" bit from Chrono Trigger was in the original American SNES release. I seem to recall that Morrigan and Lilith from Darkstalkers were in fact succubi, not vampires, though it doesn't effect your original point. And finally, the 1990 SNL skit was lampooning the trend of mass-merchandising every movie that came out by having a fake commercial for toys and games for a movie that most definately shouldn't have them, the courtroom drama "Philadelphia". The video game joke was a quick bit at the end after the ridiculous action figures with bazookas and kung-fu action (the game itself being a space shooter), so I don't think it had anything to do with Sega's ban on homosexual referrences. I could go into a bit about how Gogo was, in fact, not Setzer's dead girlfriend Darryl, but it's not really important. "Philadelphia!"

I have about three people telling me that Flea was female in the SNES version, but I didn't play that version, so I don't know.
Succubi? Meh... :p (I guess I should fix that...) Since I'm not a writer on SNL, I couldn't tell you what they were going for, but it works well in the essay, so it stays XD That Setzer thing was a theory, though. I didn't say s/he actually WAS Daryl.

Yeah, Flea was a guy.
The meeting goes like this (from memory, so a few words may be misplaced) Frog: This is no normal woman, this is the magician Flea! Flea: What the!? I'm a guy! Robo/Marle/Lucca: "That's a man!?" or "It's outward appearance is certainly that of a female," or whatever Lucca said. Flea: Whatever... Male... female... it doesn't matter. Power is beautiful, and I have power.

I notices in the SoulCalibur3.us thread you said you were writing it for a book. What book would that be?

Just for some more information:
Morrowind had a homosexual man holding a powerful position in the House of Hlaalu. There was also a game (that I never played) where the main character- a woman- used to be a man. I can't remember the title, but I remember the game was a Dragon Warrior engine rip-off. I want to say Legend of the Ghost Lion, but I can't find any information to prove or disprove that.
