When you think about the game, they might end up taking a special rickety sub located on a remote halfway destroyed town.

But as far as the plot, the LW might be the ones to destroy the town and then steal an old mans sub.

Yeah that does make more sense in relation to the plot line. But you know SOMETHING will go down in an "orgy of violence" though.

Well for some reason, I suspect that the Dethtrap will be the means of transport yet again. Why? Well it was meant to be a sub, always has been. The periscope on top should have been your first clue. The second clue would've been all those times I've mentioned it in this forum.

I know the Dethtrap, last we knew was completely & utterly busted, but it wouldn't shock me to find that either Jeff or Ackbar found the busted Dethtrap & put it somewhat back together. Claiming this time its a submarine, not a airship. Hey, it can't be all that much worse of a sub, can it?

True but you only make the sprite you do not chose what happens with it. Example: I made a sprite sheet at a friends house. He, being bored, makes a true 3D modle useing wings 3D, seen the resimblince.
2D->3D
Submarine->Airship
Now back to the topic Sarda will do something that will let them, in thery, live under water. The catch, they must not breath as long as they are underwatter.

Yeah that does sound like something Sarda would do but Theif would probably steal air then take it with him because you know that other than BM, Theif has a horrible distrust for Sarda and being sent to encounter the alleged "faceless horrors" that might just turn out to be the squid people from the frozen bowels of the earth sounds like something you would question if you claimed to be better than almost everyone you met...and in fact you really were.

You may be on to something here. I mean, the deathtrap was just a sealed vessel with a propeller at the back end, right? If that's enough to make it fly through the air, then as long as it's watertight, it could easily act as a submarine.

Though it occurs to me... If the deathtrap doubles as a sub, why wouldn't the real airship be the same? And if so, then why would they bother with the deathtrap?

While there was a sub-airship in FF3j (which looked somewhat similar the Dethtrap), in FF1 there was no such airship. The reason you wouldn't try using most airships as subs is because they're shaped like boats.

Trying to get one of those to sink, without poking a hole in it, is rather difficult.
