The happy thread

I have noticed of late that aversion, hostility, negativism and even some animosity; has been spreading around like a small plague. Not just in the internet world but in the world as a whole. So I would like to take this opportunity to create a thread for positive reinforcement.

Krylo: I would like thank you for your dogged attention to the forum as a whole. Your unending attention to details has stopped many brush fire arguments before they could begin. And your patience in the face of ignorance allows for people to learn from their mistakes. (Hail the kung-fu master)

All the other officials: I don't interact with you much, if at all. But the forum is up and running. Which means you must be doing your jobs well. Recently I know Shiney has put a stern stop to 100+ posting. So to you all I thank you for your staunch dedication to holding the rules in place and keeping order where we would all create chaos.

Pyros-Nine: You keep a happy face and a chipper attitude no matter what people throw at you. You show more patience then Buddha, who only waits three times.

SithDarth: You're wealth of knowledge has proved helpful to myself and others on many occasions. You have a creative mind and a talent for spotting the little details others have missed.

CheshireThief: You try to bring a sense of humor to harsh situations. Though you can show your teeth in an argument. You have the ability to admit if you are proved to be wrong.

GARUD: You have made a vast improvement in your Role playing skills sense coming to NPF. I'm not the only person to notice it. If there is one thing I notice and encourage, it is improvement of ones own talents. Never stop pushing yourself.

IHMN: You have a great eye for detail as well. And while your talent for prodding the loose ends and weak points others can be grating. Let it never be said that your efforts yield no positive results. Many a time you have improved a situation or silenced an argument by pointing out a fault with pinpoint precision.

All you newbies: New blood is good blood. You don't all stay, you don't always contribute a lot. But if you didn't show up you wouldn't become regulars. Keep on coming and keep on posting.

TheBlindMime: And lastly mime, Because he asked me too. Good goin buddy.

In closing there is a lot of good aspects to be found, even in people we don't always get along with. So post your feelings. Let it be known that there are those on this forum that you appreciate or at least agree with. Please don't turn this thread into a long line of sarcastic backhanded arguments. We have enough of that already.

I like the idea, Mint. And now I'll give my gratifications.

CT: If not for you, I'd honestly still be the horrid forumer I was to being with. Though things have happened to pull us apart and even to other extents, I thank you as much as anyone. Even just for the talks we had when one of us was feeling bad or sheerly to talk to each other. You've given me a lot and I want you to know I love you too, even with our problems and splitting. I can't ever say I'll feel the same way for you, and at times I really just can't stand you, but it won't ever change the fact that you're the first person to accept me and make me feel special on these forums.

JAD: You've talked to me and comforted me as much as anyone else has in my occasional times of weakness. You'll just pop up and make my day better magically. I hope you know my gratefullness because there aren't words.

Raiden: The world knows I couldn't leave you off. I still don't understand HOW you put up with me in the beginning. But you did. And like CT, if not for you, I'd still be the scrub I was. We regularly talk and have fun together and I'm not sure if you know, but this means a lot to me. Especially how you helped me, along with others, through the problem between me and CT. I can't express the appreciation and love I have for you, as well as most people on this list.

SillyKitty: I love you like the little sister I never had. It's amazing JUST how mature someone your age is and I'm proud to call you my friend. You've always been honest with me and you're the only person that I've ever gone off the deep end on and just suck it up, shrug it off and tell me it's alright.

CJ: God, you're like my twin sister. I can't express it any better than that.

Twiddy: You and I have worked through problems and had a lot of talks with each other. I want you to know that everything I said still holds true and it always will. You compliment me on things that I don't think I deserve and then shove it into my face until I get it. Thanks, Twid.

Fencer: You go right up there with JAD, CT and Raiden. You accepted me without any kind of prejudice and welcomed me into the fold with the others and if not for you, CT and KP, I wouldn't be where I am now.

DB: So much to say here. You're one of the best people I know, DB. Even through how you act generally, I got to know you as a person and it's safe to say I love you as much as the next person on this list.

KP: You make me laugh even on the worst days somehow. I don't know if you were just born to make my day better, but keep it up. I also thank you for accepting me like Fencer and CT.

Krylo: I don't know how we became friends, but it happened. I won't ever forget the first time you addressed me. Scary floating skull mod with a heart of gold is all I can say. Even through emotional problems you made me feel better and for that all I can do is say thank you and that'd I'd do the same for you. You're honestly my favorite mod and most definitely one of my favorite people on the forums in general.

Jen: You helped me the most with CT. I can't thank you enough. But here it is anyhow.

Rhiya: I still don't know how you kept me around in my early days. But you did and you were the person that greeted me off the bat in chat and gave me some helpful tips. Thanks a lot you Aussie, you.

That isn't everyone, but I just want to say, that almost everyone on this forum that I've gotten to know I love. I want to thank Brian for making this all so possible and Mint for making the thread.

Edit: This may seem like just a bunch of thank yous, but it's there to show the people that HAVE made this forum a happy place for me.

Silly Kitty: You're hilariously awesome, and you constantly bring a smile to my face. It makes me sad when I make you sad, and I love the moments when we talk. I love you.

Meister: You're one of the most awesome, creative, and funny guys I've ever met. Shortly put, you rock.

Melfice: You were one of my first friends here. You've given me a person to talk to a lot, and even though we don't talk as much as we used to, it still makes me chuckle when we do.

Loyal2NES: You were the person I considered my first "true" friend on here. Something about the way you word what you say made me like you immediately. Thanks.

Mauve Mage: You, despite your name as "Goddess of Death/Pain", are one of the most funny, kind, and one of the members I look forward to seeing on. Your comics are hilarious, and you're a great person.

Skyshot: You are a funny guy, and you were fun to run the old TAoTB/FM boards with. We really should hang out more often.

Krylo: Despite how I act towards you sometimes, just know that you have my respect.

Kneumatic Pnight: You were one of the reasons I enjoyed chat, despite our common arguments.

Red Mage Black: We don't talk anywhere near as much as we used to, but just know that you're a genuine good guy.

Mammothtank: I can't recall all of the good times we've had together. It sucks that we don't talk anywhere near as much as we used to anymore, which appears to be a common trend. o.0

RickZarber: You're one of the few people who I still talk to on a regular basis. Your comics are awesome, and you're one of the few who don't discriminate against me because of my age.

Shiney: Even though I think you can be a pain in the ass sometimes (I'm sure you've thought the same about me), I think you're a really cool guy and I thank you once more for keeping this forum at the state that it is now.

Rhiya: You are one of the simply most HILARIOUS people who I know. Your ideas never seem to end, and I have to thank you for giving me a lot of laughter.

Sk3l3t0n: You're one of the new(ish) guys who reminds me of me. You're a cool guy. We must chat sometime.

Twiddy: You're another one like Sk3l3t0n. You're a genuinely cool guy, and I enjoy our short chats together.

Brian: For giving us all the wonder that is 8-Bit Theater. I try to model my style after yours, to an extent. And I think it's quite cool that we share the same name.

ApathyMan: We don't talk at all anymore, and I remember back when we used to. Your comics crack me up and you are a genuinely awesome friend.

Thaumaturge: Indeed, you are one of the cheeriest guys I know. You've uplifted my spirits once or twice, too.

heh, This is a very very nice thing to do. Especially for the those of us who forget just how many special people there are that make this place special.

I'm not much on individual shut-outs here so here goes.

The Mod-squad
Although we got off at a bad start, got warned, and then temp banned, I thank you all so much for showing me disciplinary force. It was very much needed and helped me open my eyes to how I should act around here. Thank you guys so much.

The Regulars
You guys just keep this place alive, whether it be Bob with his crazy stories (particularily "boy rapes dog"), Locke with his constant vigilance on arguements to get in on and have a say in...and get them rolling sooo much faster, CmP for his...well Mafia games, Fifthfiend for his constant cracks and yet still being able to make the reasonable post when needed (and you still havent told us what gender you are), and just about everyone who cares to say something. And no matter how long you've been away for, there's always a special little spot for you guys at the forums. We call it the announcement thread.

And the new guys
You guys are already the regulars, whether it be your first post, or your 10,000th, because at NPF everyone's a regular.

I'll find time to make a proper post in a bit, but I'd like to present a challenge to the people posting here:

We all know everyone loves CJ, and Raiden, and Me, but we all get the love every time one of these threads pop up. Thus I'd like to ask that everyone who posts here (and has done one of these threads before) try to think of a positive thing about at least one person they've never done this for before.

For the new comers, just try to think of something positive about someone you usually don't get on with (but for the love of god, don't tell us which person that is).

Just a thought... maybe a way to get us all to recognize the positivity in even those people we don't usually associate ourselves with.
