Gamma Correction is the necessary shift made in output devices so that an image can be made as close as possible to the information. In optical outputs there are three colors Red Green Blue in printing there are four colors. Cyan-blue for the ignorant Magenta-Almost red. Yellow- self explanitory. Key - Denisty of luminance you need a mathmatical formula built into most recording and output devices to make the adjustment so the input can be made into output that is perceivably more uniform. Gamma=[d x log(Vout)]/[d x log(Vin) The image information needs to be simplified for production, mainly because what your camera or scanner can see is a vast ammount of information that neither your monitor or prints can reproduce fully. in photoshop when you are in Curves, you are making a manual gamma correction of the selected channel.

I offer you all a small glimpse into the actual sketchbook of Skweeb!
and just some in-between idea stylized studies I'm doing more of. They do help quite a bit. Soon enough eyes will start making their way onto the page. Eventually this page is just going to be a damn clutter of quick study doodles, yay? My computer died so access to Corel Painter, Photoshop, and my wacom tablet are..yeah. gone. So you folks will be seeing more good ol' fashioned sketchy paper sketches from me. and for those of you who are wondering what kind of sketchbook I have a Moleskin sketchbook. Very nice, I love the texture of the paper. They can be found at most, if not all, Barnes & Nobles bookstores. Last edited by Grandmaster_Skweeb; 03-17-2007 at 05:16 AM. |

I like my moleskin, it's only a little bigger than my ipod and I can fit it in the same bag as my ipod and headphones easily

Sorry to hear 'bout the computer Skweeb- but glad to hear
you're sketching old school. Character look's cool! You should get a comic up on site somewhere. I still have the color tweebus you did for me on my computer. And still, unfortunately, I can't open the file. I've been reposting a lot of my old material and wanted to use that colored version. Damn! It would've been the only color too.

Oh, the spraypaint brickwall I colored for you? I have it on one of my harddrives. When I build my new comp, sometime down the road, I'll send it to you again.
A D&D char I played for a bit, forget his name but basically a dwarf that is shitfaced even by dwarven standards. His perpetual drunkenness doesn't impact his throwing though, often gets free drinks by making wagers...usually the kind like 'betcha I can peg that uggleh halforc in the head, two drinks if I can get this here copper piece stuck in it's ear!'. Planning on redrawing him and using that as a reference since it ended up stiff and bleh. That and drew him in something of a slump so he didn't get as much of the artsy juice as other sketches have received. I like his face though. |

DA-DA-DA-DAA DAA DAA DA DA-DAAAAAA!

Despite my drawing-block and leaving my drawing book at home I have managed to (finally) draw a new picture:
For some reason the phrase "Live in your world, play in ours" got stuck in my head so this is the sketch that came from it. I know it's sketchy, but it's supposed to be a girl walking and a reflection of her as a game character is in the window of the building, with lots of fighting in the background. fun fun.
