You know what Newb. I'm only here trying to figure out how the mentalist works and you're just gonna fudge that all up by killing off the best lead we have on the mentalist because tommorow 42 will be free to tell us how exactly the mentalist works in terms of getting stuff done. Whether he controls what we're allowed to say or not. There is a risk that 42 is a threat, but if he's anything other than the mentalist, which he isn't, we may be able to find out who the mentalist is tommorow because it will be in 42's best interest to tell us who it is regardless of his alignment (unless of course he's the mentalist, which he isn't).

Except, of course, for the fact that the possessed person does not learn who the mentalist is, and, if it works anything like any of the other mind control roles, he isn't even allowed to admit that he was being possessed afterwards.


Plus, where did you pull "kills the person he used to be possessing" from anyways?

I'm becoming increasingly convinced that either 42 is the mentalist or both B_Real and 42 are mafiates.

I'm convinced of it because of the double edged blade against the mentalist in that he has a 1 in 4 chance of dieing himself when changing people.

Okay, new theory.

42 is not the mentalist, B_Real is under mentalist control, and the mentalist is somebody entirely different; possibly one of the people who are voting for 42 and are staying relatively quiet.

This said, I still think that 42 is some brand of scum.


Additionally, if the person being possessed DOES die when they get unpossessed, then it would be in our best interests to lynch that person anyway, because the mentalist has a 1/4 chance of killing themselves every night; the mentalist wants this game over fast instead of getting dragged out.

So let's drag the game out and make there be as many nights as possible, eh?

I have to agree with fenris the Mentalist is hardly the biggest threat, there are 5 mafia and a growing cult out there, the mentalist has about the same chance of winning as a normal sk. Assuming 42 isn't controlled by the mentalist then we will know whether or not the mentalist kills there target tonight by the number of deaths, so saying we shouldn't lynch a person because it could all be an elabrate plot by the mentalist seems rather unlikely.

EDIT: Mentalist doesn't just control votes, if I'm reading this right. Mentalist controls every single post you make. Meaning you could have been told to voteswap rapidly in a single post.

It looks the way its written that the mentalist can't make the player they control post stuff. they just can make sure to not let them post things they don't want them too. The role would be a real pain to majorblood to keep sending back messages if it worked that way.
