Anyway, the no mafia hypothesis at this point is just speculatory so far, as I don't see any evidence so far to support that there is an active mafia, aside from KP's introductory post in the sign-up thread. If my hypothesis is correct, this could easily be explained that, sure, the Coven mafia was conceived, but that doesn't necessarily mean that anyone was assigned to it. If it is to be a true witch hunt, we would have to truly believe that there are witches.

Still, there is a threat, regardless as to whether it's mafia, cult, or a serial killer. More will reveal itself in due time, but I don't feel comfortable making an official vote against anyone yet.

That said, I do find it suspect that Moogle immediately started calling for my blood as soon as I presented the idea. Either he's fully convinced that there is a mafia and I'm trying to lead everyone astray or he knows I'm right and is trying to quiet me. Still, I'm not sure enough either way at the moment.

EDIT: I didn't want to get into a semantics argument over the word "theory", so I changed it to "hypothesis".

Except that the whole point of this game, as stated several times by KP, is to mess with our heads. Its highly unlikely he would be anything anybody might predict at all. Plus he's to lazy to do one of those recursive "they expect this to happen but then I'm going to try to fake them into thinking I didn't do it just to do it" things.

That said I don't know what the hell he could have done. I just know its something none of us would ever expect. Its probably not even the stuff we'd expect KP to come up with in an attempt to throw us off.

I think demetrius is mafia because although he has posted quite a bit he hasn't really done much except random vote people based on their names and hasn't really voiced his opinions on whats been happening. He dosen't seem like he is trying to use any sort of evidence to back his votes and dosen't seem to be even trying to find the mafia.

I think POS is onto something. It's an intriguing idea but I think we'll need at least another night or two before we can make any actual conclusions.
I certaintly don't think we should vote for him for making such a conclusion and voicing it. Maybe he's a mafia trying to throw off suspicion but it sames a pretty obvious ploy and I'm just not getting bad vibes.
As for deadlines I'm away for the weekend and would prefer to get a vote away before the next night so a monday night deadline (+12 GMT) would be good for me.

That would be the former. The last time someone tried convincing the town that there were some "crazy" rules in effect (in Themeless Mafia over at TGC) they tried convincing the town that there were Fake POs and such as to make everyone not listen to the PO who had just investigated that person and roleclaimed to get the scum killed. That same person who had the crazy idea turned out to be cult-vig.

It really does seem like you're trying to throw suspicion off a group of people rather than looking for individual killers (Serial Killers) and Cult Leaders. That's why I suspect your mafia. Your hypothesis doesn't take into account that if KP was playing his game that way then why couldn't it be conceivable that there is no Cult either and that we all suspect that there is a Cult just like the Salem Witch Trials where they killed supposed witches for practicing witchcraft, regardless of proof or not.

Why couldn't it be reversed in that the Coven is actually the Puritan fanatics that you spoke of and the "Cult" (that doesn't even exist) be people who are accused of withcraft but we can never seem to pick the right one out. Either way it sounds like a nice little theory but in all reality I highly doubt it and I have to question your motive as to why you would want to throw off all suspicion of there even being a mafia in this game.
