Good lord... These girls are stupid. It really makes me weep for humanity. The kicker is, they got arrested a week later for walking out on a resturant tab.

What really got me about this was how arrogant they were about the whole situation. I really don't understand how they could feel like the victims.

"I feel extremely betrayed by the justice system," was in a statement from one of the thieves according to this article.

I think the parents of those two thieves need to be sentenced along with their daughters. One parent was upset because her speshul snowflake is going to have to go to a public (*gasp*) treatment facility to get rehab for her drug habit and mental health treatment. Judging from the girl's history as noted in the article (including stabbing a boyfriend), treatment is long overdue.

And in the video clip, both thieves were "pissed" because even though they said they had to give the money back, they were still facing charges. Really, who knew that stealing is against the law and has consequences?

That video was really funny. Based solely on their speech I imagine they weren't beat often enough as children, but there's always the outside chance they were beat just a little too much.

Parents need to take up that responsibility and beat the crap out of their kids in moderate amounts.

From the looks of things they don't seem intelligent enough to continue doing what they're doing. The iron hand of the law flicked them on the nose since they're still teenagers, but they'll be in a world of hurt with behaviour like that once they become adults.

I like how the censorship was done really crappily. I bet everyone who saw that report could easily recognize them now. And I bet it was deliberate.

That said, the only clear thing to me is that someone who tries that many drugs and does that many clearly wrong--but not lethal--things is someone whose parents need to pay more attention to. Not that these girls deserve lots of pity for their actions, but anyone else see what may be a broken family unit here?

Media is obligated to make the subject of their news unrecognizable if the subject committed a crime.

It does NOT, however, specify HOW unrecognizable.
As such, a thin black bar or over the eyes is usually enough to get away with displaying the rest of the subject's face very clearly..
