Here's the thing... i belive that there might be a slight possibility that their choice of words wasnt reeeeeeally "holy cow" at first... but considering the alternatives, im glad they picked that one.

Man not allowed on airplane because he had on a t-shirt of Megatron holding a gun.
[tldr]A London resident travelling to Dusseldorf on a business trip was detained at London’s Heathrow Airport for wearing a t-shirt that depicted a”Transformers” action figures from the legendary American animation. According to a report in the Daily Mail, 30 year old Brad Jayakody was not allowed to board his plane, after security guards stopped him before he got to the gate, since one of the fictional characters portrayed on his t-shirt was holding a gun. At first, the Heathrow security guard apparently made light of the situation, but then informed the passenger that he would not be able to fly, because “Megatron is holding a gun.” Yayakody, however, could not figure out how the guard could find the t-shirt either offensive or potentially dangerous. “”It’s a 40-foot tall cartoon robot with a gun as an arm. There is no way this shirt is offensive in any way,” Yayakody told journalists after the bizarre incident. Yayakody agreed to take off his t-shirt and change into another top before boarding his flight, so that he could continue his trip. BAA, the private company that operates Heathrow Airport, quickly dispatched a spokesperson after news of the incident surfaced and pointed out that it is, in fact, not permissible to have “rude words or a bomb” depicted on a t-shirt. The spokesperson noted that BAA will conduct an investigation into the incident, in order to determine if the security guard followed the airport’s guidelines.[/tldr] Hopefully Mirai doesn't have to go England anytime soon...

If the fiction is armed, apparently yes.

Isn't it a bit redundant for Megatron to be holding a gun?

I'd be more afraid were it a depiction of Optimus Prime with a pair of nunchaku, or maybe Starscream with a copy of the anarchist's cookbook!
Or maybe like, a raptor with a switchblade! *shot* |
