I've seen this before. I think others have done it, some more and some less seriously. I think there's one group trying to sue God for crimes against humanity, for ordering the genocides of the Midionites and Canaanites. Could just be me making that up from the vagueness of my memories of these suits, but I'm pretty sure it's happened before.

The parents and their kid are perfectly happy for years. Within a few months, she undergoes a drastic change in personality and becomes depressed, and then the mother walks in on her daughter dangling from a rope in the ceiling. Like seriously, the mother's going to want to find a reason. And the reason would be her daughter's latest obsession with death, initiated by the "emo" lifestyle. I totally agree. I may not think emo is necessarily bad as a thought process or lifestyle, but it definitely makes kids a lot darker than they need to be. Plus, it's a very cynical, annoying, depressed way of looking at life. I include annoying, because lord knows, emo people can be really fucking annoying to put up with sometimes. I don't really have anything against emo people though. I just don't really think their lifestyle or train of thought is the way to go, since it only leads to unhapiness, not happiness. ( I used unhappiness, cuz it's not really sad. Just unhappy.) :> Also: I wish I could afford that trip to england too :<

It may not have been started or meant as a cult, nor may it necessary be a cult today. I don't think it is. But you can't deny that more and more kids are getting behind a movement, that frankly supports self-torture and unhappyness as a way of life. "Cult" may not be the right word to describe it, but it's definitely forming into something.
Mondt's so emo!

Because they're not afraid to do things that Americans would totally sue over. Which equals funny.
I mean seriously, things like this would make people over here all butthurt. I mean, admit it... you'd TOTALLY sue over this... it'd be awesome to use in our prisons, though. The Chinese are guilty of it too.

That said, you can easily take it apart into otherwise normal components. People can wear black, be stereotypical teenagers with angst, or listen to edgy music without actually being emo. Heck, I don't mind half their music and I'm pretty much the antithesis of emo. You just get a cocktail of traits that contribute to an unhealthy lifestyle.
