So last night my team - Turk the half-orc monk, yours truly, Jordan a twin-sword fighter, Ellyhanna our sorceress, and Damien the rogue - go raiding some hobgoblin camps in a mining tunnel. When we get to the last part, the warlord of the hobgoblins is a big, burly guy with Fighter levels in full plate and a bastard sword.

I run up and take out the crossbowmen, killing his ranged support, and he starts to go after Jordan. Damien backstabs him once and gets one-shot to -5 hit points. Jordan is seriously getting whupped and Elly is able to neutralize his reinforcements, but we're running out of options.

A rust monster comes after us.

I see it with my darkvision first and go "JORDAN! RUN!" He starts to munch on the hobgoblins' armor first, and since I'm a monk I don't have armor, swords, and I bought Bracers of Armor earlier but specified that they had to be wristwraps, because I felt it was more thematically appropriate for monks. So I have no metal on me at all.

Fightergoblin power attacks Jordan and whiffs horribly, and I take my opportunity to jump on his back and grapple him, and then I pin him and, quote, 'try to make him look delicious.' My DM, upon hearing why I want to grapple him, asked, "Why?"

Two rounds later the rust monster starts munching on his armor, dropping it's scores drastically (My DM uses homebrew 3.0 rules for some, including rust monsters) and Jordan takes the opportunity to run away. I give him one solid flurry to the stomach, finishing him off, and the hobgoblins are quick work after that. I step on the bug and call it a day.

Thanks for the links, guys. I'll start reading when I get the time (probably around December).
As for Smarty, that would be amazingly appreciated. I'll PM you so we can work something out.

The fighter had to get a new sword BTW.

I think we are all interested in EVILness's DnD campaign as it sounds pretty great so far!

The DM won't tell me what is happening on the island because I can't see them. I'm trying to get some eyes on them, but having a hard time since Scrying isn't working and my airborne spies keep disappearing.

As for what we did... well we spent the whole session trying to find a suitable replacement sword for the fighter. Long story short we are trudging through a cursed tomb fighting mummies looking for a sword of legend.

We are currently adventuring looking for any edge we can get when we assault the monastery full of Monks, Paladins, and Clerics. Thats is gonna be a hard battle. Especially since my spy network can't pierce the place, in what I am starting to think is a god move on the part of the DM. I have a really good spy network.

Oh that reminds me of something I held back on sharing as it didn't fully play out yet.

They were fighting a rock dragon. For those that dont know exalted rock dragon, it is a plasmic creature, a mile long, with a body made up of ash, burnt slag, and the half digested corpses of its victims. Oh and it breathes lava. It was headed to a town so they fought it. In fact one of the players managed to actually clamp this things mouth shut with his bare hands.

But anyways, then some random stranger came in and helped slay the beast. The entire group got to talking with him, since they were new to the underworld. During conversation one of the players decided to get his opinion on something and showed them a map to a wise and powerful being. Without the new guy ever mentioning it I might add. Why did I feel this was worth mentioning? Because the guy was in fact the campaigns big bad and they just revealed to him the location of one of the few beings that could actually be a threat to him.

I am so glad it was my AIM game because I was laughing laughing hysterically. I would be railroading the story if I made them or even if he asked to see it. That entire plot point relied on them not only showing him the map, but it being their idea to do so. Just to set up the big reveal later on when they realize not only did they help the big bad, but it was THEIR idea to help him

Well I have something from last weekend in a quick session.

We were in the throne room with the King and Queen when an assassin struck.

Our party had all weapons removed before entering and no one could even get near the king in time to save him, so being the dwarf cleric I thought, Well the king seems like a standup guy, and having limited spells left after a grueling defense of the city earlier in the day, I cast the only spell I had left that would be effective. Holy Smite. Whelp, I rolled real good and the assassin rolled real shitty. He died from the spell. The King was perfectly fine, I knew he was a stand up guy. The Queen on the other hand, apparently she was evil. She died, really bad.

Luckily, LUCKILY I totaly ruined my DM's plot of having a creature that was masquerading as the queen who was to assist in the assassin killing the king by pretending to freak out and cling to the king while the assassin struck.

So now where are off to find the Queen. If we don't I'll be hanged cause I still used a spell at a royal personage.

I'm in an Exalted campaign with some interesting stuff going on. To set the scene, about a year ago or so in real world terms my circle entered a fair folk manse and got captured. Basically we had to promise to some fair folk lady to bring her some dragon bloods. Anyways due to school and stuff, the guy who played the Zenith caste stopped playing with us and joined us again. Seeing as he is crazy for experience, he did some solo sessions with the GM to get some experience and storyline in. In short when we were in the fair folk manse, instead of agreeing, he decided to try and escape. He failed, was jailed, got some mutations and ended up getting a fair folk lover and 'kidnapping' her.

So at this he rejoins us as we're doing a quest for the immaculate order. Though she has her uses in battle, we decide that her eating parts of people's souls aren't worth it, especially after one battle where we're all deeply wounded and she ups our debt to her. So we decide it's time to kill her. So one night around the fire (cause during the day she rode her tyrant lizard that she made) we all attack. Well the eclipse attacks first, gaining surprise. We all roll join battle and the fae goes next, casting celestial circle sorcery to defend herself (Incomparable Body Armor) and casting Oil of Burning Blood on the Zenith. I, the twilight, get a shot off with a stored Flying Guillotine spell in an artifact level 3 Sorcery String, getting some damage on her. The Night then attacked next, about to do a super point blank shot archery shot on the Fae when the fae drops her form. Throwing up spirit detecting glance I see the Fae enter the mind of the Zenith, who is unconscious now, to reform her body in his dreams.

The thing about this is that it was a reflexive action to enter his dreams, and the next tick another reflexive action to reform. So we did the only thing we could at that point to kill her, which was kill the Zenith. We lob his head off and I see her eject half made and get torn up by creation.

Of course the guy who plays the Zenith is a bit miffed about it happening and we'll see if keeps playing with us or not. Things haven't gone well with him.

So it was a cool moment, but this is the first character to character kills that we've really had... so we'll see what happens. I doubt a character to character kill will happen again, even in the most dire circumstances...

We started another campaign, I'm a player this time.

We're playing gestalts, started at level five. I'm playing a halflings monk/fighter who was raised by orcs and then "rescued" by halflings around pre-teen age. So he despises halflings.

The fighter levels make me a more effective attacker (since I have a fighter's base attack bonus, hit die, and bonus feats), while the monk levels I love everything about.

He has an intelligence of 9, a current strength of 18 (upon reaching level 8. I also have gauntlets of ogre power putting it at 20.)

I'm still choosing what feats I want and such, but currently he does 1d8+9 (double on a charge because of the Flying Kick feat) with +18/+13 for full attack and +17/+17/+12 for flurry of blows, has +30-ish to jumps and doesn't need a running start (normally doubles jump DC if you don't get one. I have a +5, however, if I DO get one. Horizontal jump DC is equal to the number of feet, vertical jump is feet times four.)

I intend to soon get the superior unarmed strike feat (do damage as a monk four levels higher, so one damage die higher.), a monk's belt (AC bonus and unarmed damage as a monk five levels higher), greater weapon specialization (unarmed attack) (+2 to damage), and lightning fists (two extra attacks at -5 penalty)...Among other things.

I also got improved sunder, and at level 16, my fists are treated as adamantine, which ignores the hardness (basically damage reduction) of objects. So I'm going to be a weapon-breaking machine. Among other things. >=3

Edit: Oh right, the campaign.

Well, we went into a cave and junk, long story short we killed some demons and found some jars of blood. Turns out the blood is from Tiamat and Bahamut, each with their own jar. Powerful seals and junk on them.

We went and asked a dude about them, and he told us what we should do. So we ended up talking to St. Cuthbert himself, as there's this whole plot involving his mace. We needed him to take us to hell. And I, with my intelligence of 9, levied in with my rather convincing argument, despite being only dimly aware of why we were going to hell in the first place. So now we're on the plane of eternal battle (archaen, arcaen, arcoen...Something like that. Where the blood war takes place.), with Cuthbert clearing the area for us. He leaves, giving us a general direction of the gate that will take us to hell. We have to get to the eighth level of hell.

We're level 8 at the moment. Several of the levels of hell kill you in a pretty short time if you don't have magical protection or immunity to a certain element. The DM said to us "Well, hopefully you'll level up some on the way to the portal."

I don't have high hopes for our survival. It'll be fun. =3
