Astral Harmony will become famous soon enough. Eventually. Maybe.

Pamelia caught the keys and sighed. "If I knew you just wanted me to leave, I would've left with Laurella. Oh, well."

She had a license, of course. Driving a car was a lot speedier way of losing her foes and thus preferable to running in most instances. Pamelia pulled herself into the driver side and started it up, then looked out the passenger side at Task running to the car, shouting something about some road named Arrowroot. "Well, it's on the way to where I'm going, but I'm afraid I can't take you there. Sorry, I've gotta go."

Pamelia put the car in gear and pulled sharply out of the parking lot, leaving Duncan, Task and the school behind her.

One had to be careful, though. Pamelia was now by herself. Every protector was at the school, and if that demon was just a means of separating her from her guardians...
"Can't be. That thing must've taken some poor souls to bring about. They wouldn't waste it just for a distraction, would they?"

(OOC: Fuck fuck fuck fuck! My dad came to town and has been monopolizing my comp! I'ma try to catch up, but... )

"Very nice Mr. Markowe. Next, Ms..."

boom!

It was then, in the middle of introductions, that Adam and his class noticed that everyone was running out of their classrooms. And, very soon after, that he realized why. He was split: defend his students, or attempt to help the Mother. He knew, in abstract, that the Mother had other protectors elsewhere, and while he knew that she took precedence, she was also probably now in a position where he'd have to search for her. He decided on a course of action.

"Students, we're going to get out of here in an orderly fashion. I'm sure you all know security procedure: all of you, single-file, behind me," he told them as calmly as possible. As soon as he more or less had them in good order, he trotted them out of the school: being a non-magic user with no students of interest, the demons didn't pay his students or him much attention, and because they were already on a trot, his students didn't really miss the point of leaving.

As soon as they hit the sunlight of the parking lot, without bothering with more than a cursory headcount (he was sure that the three missing were still outside the building), he trotted back in, drawing his Desert Eagle. He decided not to waste any ammo on the smaller demons, which he saw the other protectors more or less had covered. Until he saw what had their attention.

"Oh bugger."

Adam opened fire, aware of his limited ammunition. He turned to the nearest person he saw also trying to hurt the unholy thing, and shouted loudly enough that anyone in the room should have heard him.

"Any idea how to hurt it best?"

Staring at the mass of currently unstoppable muscle he was finding himself in some properly deep shit. He ran out of the building watching as further attempts were made on the creature. He figured maybe if they could just keep it here they could eventually riddle it enough to kill the bastard. He needed something though. Bigger than a bullet. Something large and distracting to assure the creep would stay here.

He ran off to the shop class.

Todays tools, a drill, a fairly long drill bit, a heavy rock, and a philips screwdriver. It hadn't taken him long, and by the time he had broken into one of the cars in the parking lot they were apparently exploding the thing. He drilled into the ignition carefully and shoved in the screwdriver, forcing it active.

He revved the car up so it could reach top speed about as quick as he could hope. He then floored it and shoved the heavy rock on the gas. He stayed in the car long enough to try to steer it correctly into the damned thing.

Then he rolled out.

He wouldn't get to see the ting get hit, but he really hoped throwing a car at it would do the job.

Damien had been moving towards the protectors already, shooting the occasional demon bird before noticing the demon in the middle of being assaulted by the mass of protectors.

"God Damn! Think that thing is ugly enough?"

However seeing the sheer number of protectors around it he decided the best course of action was to leave them to it and go after the remaining birds. Not to mention giving the apparent firepower his small handgun would be like poking a bull with a twig. He moved towards the group, his shots almost nothing compared with the others but shooting down the remaining birds around the protectors.

Still part of him was worried that the Mother of Hell was nowhere in sight. He couldn't protect her very well if she continued to remain hidden.

A flock of the demon birds went up in blue-green flames, as Lynn finished his incantation. He ran a hand through his black hair, letting out a sigh. The birds had suddenly surged, all trying to get to where the ward had shattered. He'd killed all that he could, but, he knew a lot had gotten past him. The mage seriously hoped he hadn't overestimated the other Protector's with this move.

Casually, he walked toward one of the windows on this level. As an afterthought, he spoke a word of command and snuffed the freezing fire that was slowly spreading from the frozen forms of the demons birds.

He saw Pamelia take off across the Parking Lot, moving toward...Duncan? It looked like him.

She was followed, shortly, by a huge mound of organs.

Lynn groaned.

The other Protectors, and the flock of demonic birds, each one able to slit a person's throat in a single pass, were following them.

Helpful. Lynn observed, rapping on a window in front for him. After a moment, he nodded to himself. Warded, good. Ignoring the commotion outside for a moment, he settled back on his heels thoughtfully.

I could break it. He glanced from the ground, to the demon, to the mob of Protectors, to the escaping Mother of Hell. Or, I could walk out unhurriedly, without a broken leg.

Such decisions!

Should not be reached hastily.

Ever since the blood-summon had emerged Marcus had begun chanting. He had stayed with the group to ensure his protection while he prepared his spell, and while he hated that he couldn't really help right away he knew this was a necessary decision. Best case scenario, his complicated incantation spell would incapacitate the demon. Worst case, it would piss it off. What he expected to happen though was to gain it's attention and stop it from chasing Pamelia.

As Marcus was nearing the end of the incantation he noticed one of the Protectors driving a car straight at the demon. Perfect. As Richard bailed out of the car Marcus unleashed his spell. An inferno of gold and white fire erupted beneath the demon, burning and purifying the various limbs it used to keep itself standing and mobile. The fire started to waver but Marcus began a sub-incantation to keep it burning longer. The demon roared but if it was from pain, anger, or frustration that Pamelia was getting away he couldn't tell. Marcus was just hoping that the thing would buckle before the car impacted, giving the car a more direct hit instead of just knocking it off its feet. Or whatever those things were.

Nothing seemed to be slowing the creature down. Not bullets, not magic, not explosives. Don had emptied his first mag and had just reloaded when it surged forwards, desperately pursuing the Mother. He was forced to dive to the side as tentacles lashed out, attempting to swat him out of the way and Don responded with a burst of gunfire, ripping the offending appendages away, but it still had plenty to spare.

"Goddamnit why won't this thing die already??!" Clearly bullets weren't working, even high calibur sniper rounds from another Protector had had little effect. It was time to break out the heavy artillery.

"Keep it busy, I have a surprise for this bastard!" With that he turned and ran back to his hummer, throwing his P90 aside when he reached the boot of his vehicle. He found what he was looking for in an instant, safely stored away in a large crate in the rear. He hoisted the heavy weapon in his hands, flicked open the cartridge assembly to quickly check the rounds inside, then snapped it shut again.

When Don emerged from behind his car he held the Milkor six shot automatic grenade launcher ready in his hands. He was through playing around; this thing was going to die, right now!

He saw that somebody had just crashed a car into the beast, someone else had set it on fire, and someone else was apparantly trying to stab it.

"Hey kid, get the fuck outta there!!" He only gave the guy a second to move his arse, before he began to unload the launchers six high explosive shells, one after another, after another. With any luck the car would explode too, and that combined with the burning and damage it had already sustained would be enough to finally end it. Maybe.

Task ran after the racing car. "Noooooooooes!"

Having a man nearly kill him with a knife and a creepy, non-mouth breathing abomination behind him, Task went gone. As Pamelia zoomed out of the parking lot, she had to round a bend lest she escape the school by going over some sidewalk and a bench. If she did, Task wouldn't blame her though.

Task took this as a sign that he should run faster, and she was his only way out. I mean, who would stop for a scared kid at the side of the road waiting for a ride, when there's some sort of hellish abomination right behind him?

If he couldn't catch up with her car, he'd just keep running and never stop. This was his plan, and given the circumstances it was one of the better ones. The only thing keeping him from getting a lead on a car that was putting the pedal to the medal was a high brick wall that served as "protection" around the perimeter of the school. This was one of those fancy ones, after all.

Task held out both arms, and got into full athletic performance mode. With great ease, and almost defiance of gravity, he ran straight up the wall and vaulted over the top as he got there, falling a good 7 feet to the ground and rolled, continuing his run after Pamelia's car. Of course, with her driving and him running at a good pace, she would still lose him shortly.

"Hey kid, get the fuck outta there!"

Matt's head turned just in time to see one of the Protectors fire a rather large and deadly looking weapon at the monster. Make that the monster and Matt. Oh, explosives. And here Matt had been worried about bullets.

"Holy shite!" squeaked the boy, hastilly letting go of the arrow and scrambling out of the weapon's path. Nobody from the Holy Legion had said anything about dodging rockets or grenades or Holy shit is that a car?!? Matt finally noticed the vehicle on a crash course with the monster, uncomfortably close to the spot where he had been standing. These guys were nuts!

It was then that he realized he was still running. He slowed. Now he was in the middle of the parking lot, close to his own car. He could get his bow and some decent arrows now, anyway. And hopefully that meant he could stay out of the Protectors' line of fire for five minutes.

((OOC: Action movies physics, go!))

Between fire, explosives, and flying cars, a lovely chain of event took place.

Now, the wyrm saw the car coming, and whatever it's intellectual prowess was, it decided that the car was the biggest current threat. It darted forward, grabbed the oncoming car in its teeth (I did mention it could hold a compact car in it's mouth, right?), and flung the car behind it.

It was then that the lovely course of events took place.

First, the fire caused by Marcus. Sure, at first, this seemed to serve little more but to turn the unprotected wyrm into a more crispy critter. The fire would come into play later.

Around this time, the car crashed through what was left of the steel-and-glass entrance way and into the main foyer.

Then came Don's grenades. These, too did untold damage into the unprotected flesh of the creature. However, as luck would have it, some of the pieces of shrapnel from the blast...be it metal or demon bone or something...managed to punch a few holes into the gas tank.

As it turned out, the unfortunate student that drove that particular car to school today also happened to fill up the gas tank that morning.

Fortunately, the shrapnel that punched said holes through the gas tank didn't spark an explosion then an there. Anyone who has seen Mythbusters knows that doesn't happen.

Unfortunately, the now holely gas tank was now flying over a wyrm that was now ablaze thanks to the actions of Marcus. And the holes were big enough that they were leaking a rather solid stream of fuel, leading back to a the said gas tank, which was also, as was previously said, full?

Meanwhile, out front, Duncan reached into his "attack sack", and pulled out a chain. Now, normally, attacking a monster the size of a small train with a chain was stupid. However, Duncan had spent some quality time with this chain, and each link was carefully inscribed with a sigil that was identical to the same sigil he had on this throwing knifes. He began to swing the chain, trying to give it enough momentum to throw accurately.

Just as he was about to let go, a car hurlted past him from one direction, a student from another, and a rather unexpected resulting explosion knocked him off his feet.

Sure, the cars-worth of shrapnel also effective slice-and-diced the wyrm three ways from Sunday...but the same thing could be said for the foyer...

((OOC: Alright...everyone in the foray gets to explain why they didn't die in the blast.

Don't worry, I'm not going to be a nazi about this. Like I said...action movie physics are go.))
