You guys got a hippy and a paladin.
You're never gonna get to have any fun.

Yeah, the second the hippy pulls out the fun stuff, the paladin is going to arrest him.
Lame. EDIT: While I think of it, is it just me or is Armour Skill kinda dumb? It doesn't do anything except let you wear higher tiers of armour, while there's nothing stopping you using high tier weapons. Is there something about full plate made of crystal that suddenly turns you into a dribbling vegtable if you put it on or something?

As far as I get it:
Without a sufficient weapon skill, you get no special features(like HP drain) and your damage is capped at the tier you can wield. So a tier 8 weapon(8*stat + 2d6 damage, 8 special features) will be a featureless tier 3 (3*stat + 2d6 damage) if your skill is only 3 and a tier 1(1*stat +2d6) weapon with a flat 2d6 accuracy(cause there's no class or DEX bonus) if you don't have even one level... |

Where on earth does it say that?
While I think of it, are you completely mute unless you put at least one point into Languages?

The book is lacking in some places so some stuff has to be made up on the fly anyway. What I said was what I think, based on what is known for sure. That's one of the things that aren't explained. So far we went pretty much the way you mention, except it'd also mean not understanding speech or writing. |

That's not what it says at all. It's saying if you have no points in the Weapon Skill for that weapon and you try to use it, it'll count as an improvised weapon. Aside from the (potentially huge) reduction to damage, all the weapon special abilities will still work normally.

Ya know, forger I opened my mouth, we'll see how Truce will handle shiz.
I'm jumping conclusions basing on scraps of stuff from all over the book cause it's just so unspecific on many matters... |

Got enough Negotiation to make that believable! Quote:
Then you can murder people for me! Except the Paladin. Seriously, if Negotiation checks actually worked on other players (I don't think they do?), I'd probably be able to control most of my team. Such low Charisma scores overall; resisting Stats Ailments like Charm is gonna be tough for you all. Well, not the Paladin. He'll stay sane until I lose it too. Hm, I wonder, could you cancel out a Charm spell on an ally if you have higher Charisma/Negotiate levels then the thing that cast the spell? Or am I thinking too creatively for a dice system now?

I pretty much realized one way the group can interact with low charisma in a crowd without being too offensive. Aside from Naqel, everyone in the group has Monster language. Since the typical NPC probably won't have the language, we can have our own conversations from 2-3 feet away, talking about how to take advantage of the merchant and they probably won't understand. (In Naqel's case, I can translate for him since it's also very unlikely that anyone else that isn't an android will understand binary.) This also would be interesting to see what monster everyone is communicating as. Although we might get some strange looks...
Blue Mage: *Low growl like a Couerl" "So what can I cook for you guys?" Paladin: *Sqawking like a Chocobo* "Some potatoes, nuts and a light beer." Dragoon: *Snarling and roaring like a dragon* "Androids have no need for food. This dragon can have meat." Geomancer: *Excitable chittering of a Mandragora" "A fruit salad." >_> Now that I think about is, Our cooking Blue Mage friend won't have to cook for the two androids. EDIT: And I also realize that we're going to have transportation issues with two androids, especially with me being the worst offender. 200 KG for being one, probably another 25-50ish or so for Heavy Armor and another little bit for my baby dragon. Chocobos breeders are probably going to take one look at me and "F-BLEEEP YOU!" EDIT: And Teal, just wondering but is there any ingame reason other than roleplaying purpose for choosing a staff when you can't take advantage of its Spell Effect thing instead of something like perhaps an axe. Hey! If you insane lunatics want to communicate as monsters go ahead, but I have my dignity and I'm not going to be doing that in town. Damn Hippies the lot of you!
I'll just explain to everyone you all aren't right in the head. "Gee, sorry everyone, they're part of the special group. I'm chaperoning them so they don't hurt themselves" Goddamn hippies the lot of you! See if I convince the guards to let you out when they arrest you for disruption of public and causing a scene.
