Is my PS3 doomed? (Original 60GB PS3, minor bugs)
So my PS3 has started to behave a little buggy. It started during the week, where it kept complaining that I was charging too many USB devices at once. Of course, I only had the 2 controllers plugged in.
Additionally, I'd get the same report after I unplugged 1 of the 2 controllers. It only stopped bugging me after I unplugged everything. Today, I'd gotten my first 2 game freezes. Here's what I've done, I've done a decent job of cleaning out the alcove where I keep my PS3. Also, I've done a lot of cleaning & blowing action on the exhaust ports that I see. Finally, I've up & unplugged my PS3 entirely, as I usually leave it in stand-by mode. Is there anything more I can do? Should I grab one of those CO2 canisters? SWB

The old 60 gig reverse compatible model? Yea sounds doomed to me. My brother's broke down and he couldn't get it repaired since Sony for some reason, doesnt' like ones that can play PS2 games

Try reinstalling the PS3 OS, that may fix it.

You can not only still get it repaired, but if it is out of warranty, it will cost you $190 CAD.
I hope that helps! Sony is actually very happy to still fix it. I just got my identical-model repaired. You're experiencing a couple different problems, Bob. My PS3 had the same problem about 4 months ago. |

Older models of systems generally seem to have this problem, especially when you get the console when it first came out.
For example: Some copies of the Wii couldn't play games with dual layers, such as Super Smash Bros Brawl. Best thing to do is turn it in and see what happens. |
