Personally, I use Yahoo mail. I was drawn by the probably-will-never-be-utilized-by-me unlimited storage, but it's still pretty good.
There are a couple times spam gets into the main inbox and vice-versa, but spam is shown as, well, spam. It's also adaptive to a point. If you delete too many emails too quickly from one address in the inbox, that address starts getting flagged as spam(This happens very rarely, though). It also has the "Hey, bozos, this is SPAM" button I'd assume is standard issue. Anyways, I like it, so it works. |

I use Yahoo and the only spam is that which I brought upon myself by signing up for newsletters. The only problem I have with it is actually the unlimited storage, because I tend to let it pile up and then it's a pain in the ass to delete it all for some billion pages and then have to delete it all from the trash bin.

If the storage is unlimited, you don't have to delete anything. On Gmail, I just archive everything and have never deleted an email. Does Yahoo have something like an Archive button? |

My issue is that I don't read a lot of mine because my mom floods me out with chain mail and StumbleUpon. Like, lots. So it's a pain in the ass to always go in and have it tell me I have 500 or so unread messages. I'm up to an even 200 right now, so give me a month and I'll probably be doing another purge.

Gmail really is the only free and popular email service that isn't visually bloated although the cross-breeding with all of Google's other services can be a bit much. I would really like to organize everything I use/do online independantly of Google apps.
But this is true of everything. I'm sure there's an app out there that publishes your address book on your blog/facebook page along with your credit card number and browsing history. WHEEE!

Just a thought. Anyway, I use hotmail and have never had a problem with it. Truth be told, the only reason I use it is so I can get the msn popup telling me I have mail without actually opening my mailbox. I know its not the only thing that does that, but I'm always on msn. |

You might be able to automatically give all her mail a label, making it easy to just move those to their own folder or something. (or delete :D) Its a neat thing. You could use your email again =O Last edited by MasterOfMagic; 06-04-2010 at 10:23 PM. |

Easier said than done. On the one hand, it's really awesome to not get "OMG TRUE STORY OBAMA IS <INSERT EVIL GROUP MEMBER HERE>" or chain emails, but on the other hand, it'll be a real shitstorm just to convince her to stop.
Really, it becomes a big mess(much like the inbox might be right now, natch). |

Some of them are actually pretty entertaining reads, or at least the friends stories can be, and the StumbleUpon sites are generally just plain great. But the real issue is the fact that she just does a "send to all." The only way to get her to stop would be to either make her stop sending them entirely and tick off the friends she gets them from or have her remove me from her address book.

Now I really feel for ya. Let me ask, does she ever actually add her own comments to the emails? |
