Well, the thing is, it is very specific in that only influence rage cost of abilities that are linked with upgrades of Trainers. (Divide, Focus and Testament Drive). And since it can only be used that same turn, it's not like rage which can be stockpiled for immense use later.

But I'll try to think of a different technique somehow.

Kay. If you can't, maybe we could just make it so that it uses two actions, in exchange for 15 rage. So he could either use both actions on it, or he'd need next turn to recharge.

Oh, right. Didn't see that.

The ability to use that technique would have given you quite a significant attack boost, I think. I mean, even if just half of your attack becomes super-effective (which, with Pierce's lineup, is quite possible in most situations), that's a boost of 0.5. That's a helping hand. It's less if you assume that the original half had STAB, but still. It's a good bonus, and one that can really make a difference. I think it would actually have been one of Pierce's more popular techniques.
But ok. I think the whole 'pokemon can't take action next turn' would actually underpower it. ANd I mean, you could strengthen it to compensate for that, but then it's suddenly really quite a significant technique, more imporant than all other trainer actions. Huh. Apart from rage, I really can't think of much, though.
Maybe instead of giving it a cost, just make it so that the pokemon in question doesn't earn rage with that attack?

Well, the extra type is the primary type of the other pokemon on the field, so the types available would be, Rock, Fire, Electric, Steel, Dark and Dragon.

And, okay, I can see your point.

Let's keep it as is, for now, though I reserve the right to change it later to add multipliers, but the pokemon in question doesn't gain Rage.

I'll think of a replacement for the rage-deduction action later. With Attentive Care and Guiding Support, that's already the 2 actions that Renny can carry right now.

AB, don't worry about Pierce's battles being too short. I can make them as long as they need to be.

I mean, you shouldn't make long, boring battles, but you also don't have to make them stupidly short. Pierce's battles are story battles, and since it's his story and his sidequest, those can take as long as I want.

Understood. I think it's about time we start setting up. I'll finish my portion of the characters (at least those who'll be available for DSS) perhaps before I even come home from work.

Then we can use tonight to decide on DSS formations and do all the setup posts, like Pierce going rogue and Renny going off to see Herr Doktor.
