Anyone help me figure out an obscure memory of a movie?
Okay, there was a movie I saw a loooong time ago and I cannot remember the name of it. I was maybe 4 at the time, so late 80s? I do remember bits and pieces of it though. What I am asking is if anyone can help me piece the bits together to get a name I might throw into netflix and watch again.
I remember a house and someone the protagonist got transported to a sand filled place? I seem to recall a cowboy, and the hero picked up a friendly monster, which was a puppet, and I remember it might be an unrelated sequel to another movie. Kinda vague I know, but I can't remember what it is for the life of me.

Kinda sounds like.. a weird movie. I bet if you put in 'Spaceballs', 'Time Bandits' and, I dunno let's say, 'Fraggle Rock' into your favorites, Netflix will probably find it.

Land Before Time, Dark Crystal, etc.
More details would help. There are plenty of puppets in 1980s films.
Was the sand from a beach or a desert? Is this a real cowboy or just someone who dressed like one? Monster/puppet means what?

Cowboy? Anyways - was it a horror, comedy... what? Are you sure of all your listed details? Are you sure it's a movie and not a TV show? |

How about... The Valley of Gwangi? (I asked my friend who is a huge movie buff and she suggested that, as far as a movie that has a desert and cowboys and dinosaurs in it)

House II: The Second Story? e: - zombie cowboy is a main character's grandfather - they befriend a baby dinosaur - I'm sure one of the rooms of the house sends them to a desert/sandy area - it's a sequel - it's from 1987 e2: I might watch this now.
