Then that begs the question, what else needs to be filled? They've got their musician, which was such a big running joke from the beginning that I kind of assumed they'd be set now that they had Brook. What job is left?

Alternatively, scout/spy. Robin sorta has the sneaking, and Usopp has his sharp-shooting, and Nami's used to be sorta thief-y, but they have no straight-up guy who sneaks and spies. It's a niche they could stand to fill. And he could be small and ugly like Chopper used to be.

It's going to be the shichibukai fish guy. He's going to be the new crew member.
No idea what role he's going to fill. Got absolutely nothing to back up what I said. I'm just entirely certain it's going to be him joining the crew.

Well most crews don't NEED an archaeologist so honestly it could be anybody. Luffy could like meet some dude/lady in a town and just be like "My crew needs a plumber/accountant/painter/dry cleaner" remember how he recruited Brooke?

My personal bet is a dancer to complement Brooke. Or another science type job like Robin they were common on old timey ships. Like a biologist or astronomer or something. My money's on dancer if it's on anything though.

Edit: Maybe a different kind of entertainer. Could see Luffy totally press ganging a puppeteer or something.

Edit2: The more I think about the more I like the idea of a puppeteer. Would be a fighting style quite different from everyone else's. Wirefu and creepy puppet combat is always cool.

Well, we've already seen someone with wirefu, and maybe I'm wrong here but something tells me Donflamingo is not too interested in joining up with Luffy anytime soon.

Not that he's the only person allowed to fight that way but I'm just saying

Jimbei? I thought he was going to be the 10th member too.

I'd imagine just his presence alone would help alleviate future issues with fishmens/merfolks, considering how many are justifiably racist against them, angry and scared of humans due to the slave trades and all. His former shichibukai status might also be impressive in some social circles.

That and he also have the underwater expertise needed to fight off underwater monsters without breaking the bubble as well as save the devilfruit users who fall in the water. Plus, he can summon aquatic life like whales. You know... He's basically Aquaman in a world that's 90% water?

Hell, for the brief time that this forum had a One Piece RP, I thought of having a Fishman that would dive underwater that would swim underwater and punch holes in the ship's belly, so they'd start sinking. That would solve tons of problems with ship battles.

Although maybe that's why Oda put the bubble coating arc in the first place, so when Jimbei comes to the team, he wouldn't be able to do that "living torpedo ability" so easily since the offending ships could dive too and generally be more evasive.

I was actually talking like Crouching Tiger Hidden Draogn Wire Fu, not like razor wire. You know with the puppets. Though the razor wire could work too, it's not like everyone has to have their own individual weapon(and the puppets would put some distance between them and Flamingo). It would be neat to have someone with fruit powers fighting someone who replicates the same fruit powers through natural skill and weaponry.

Flamingo uses puppets (which are other people). Not sure where you are getting wires. He did cut off the one giant's foot, but that's all I can think of.

I think those are an extension of his powers

Certainly makes more sense then Paw Paw Bear's power
