You know, I went and read a few chapters (well, I looked at the pictures, anyway). I was unfairly judging the art on the awful covers. The inside, while a little heavy on tones ('cause what shoujo comic isn't?) is really nothing especially bad.

Okay, I think you misunderstand phil. They are rereleasing the whole Manga with some updated drawing and compressing it into fewer volumes. On top of that they are releasing for the first time the manga that launched Sailor Moon; Codename Sailor V...which is the prequel to Sailor Moon.

Sailor Moon was not padded and filled to death as an anime thankfully and the only multi-episode fights were towards the end of seasons. Rumors were flying last year that Funimation was going to redub ahd release the whole series again, including the 5th Season that never came stateside. NOw, for those not in the know...the reason why was that three of the characters were men who transformed into women as Senshi (Naoko stated that only females can be Senshi so it's canon). This is also in the Manga but I think they let up with the Manga. Also, one of the Starlights attacks was "Star Gentle Uterus"...so yeah this wouldn't of flown well on TV stateside during the late 90's, early 2000's. Tokyopop re-editted it to be "Star Gentle Creator" instead to not offend parents or conservatives.
