Okay, so it's only half a post. I don't really have any excuses for why it took me this long.

In any case, once I finally had the will and the incentive, I was eventually able to get past my block and the words came out pretty quickly then. So now you know about my evil plan to kill off Pierce and make Elizabeth into my main character. Mwa. Ha. Ha.

If AB's okay with waiting, I think I should be able to get the other half before Monday at the very very latest. If not, then I'll still get it up. I just thought, since the whole thing's not yet done, this cliffhanger would be a nice cutoff point.

I'll create UmbraLite at the same time as the RP post itself. Otherwise, it'd just be a distraction. I'll just go ahead and type what it's about here in order to help me focus my own thoughts about it. In addition, I'd like to hear your thoughts about it, too.

UmbraLite: The ESTOC Missions (working subtitle) is about a special group within Fainas Metropolis's PATCA branch called ESTOC (Efficient Sorties and Tactics Operative Corps).

A terrible acronym for a terribly overworked and overwhelmed combat unit. Their motto is "Do more with less". But more popularly it's "Do more with so much fuckin' less it's a wonder we're not dead somewhere". They're understaffed, underequipped, and way too much is expected out of them. Fortunately, they do have luck on their side. You'd have to be as retarded as this guy to fail some of the zany missions these unfortunate souls have been assigned.

The members of this group really aren't prepared for serious combat. A Pokemon Trainer working for ESTOC would consider himself lucky just to have two Pokemon to use. A Slayer with multiple weapons? Sure, if they happen upon something in the area that they can use to hurt someone. And Pokebrids have to really go the distance to get all the talent they can get out of their one form.

So, uhhh...yeah, joke characters and joke missions with the occasional Watchman member or two thrown in to keep the rampant shenanigans from blowing up the world (that's Dinner's job). ESTOC is led by the beautiful, serious and passionate Naomi Miyamoto who just has her heart into this so much that she can't bring herself to leave and pursue a much more lucrative, much less suicidal career. Plus, she's a bit...not good in the head.

The RP will clearly be freeform, and due to the fact that the characters will be even more underpowered than Rank 1 versions of their own classes (remember that the idea behind ESTOC is to do more with less), players and NPCs alike (even the Watchmen ones!) will have to come up with some pretty creative (and usually ridiculous) methods of defeating their foes and completing the missions, using the environment and their own creativity to eke a victory out something that seems so impossible and silly.

Although I do admit that a sincerely kind and empathic character played straight in his creation or actions that is somehow inspiring fear in other players make me wonder if I've gone a couple steps too far in the wrong direction. ^^;

Looking forward to the rest of your post. Taking steps to edit the database since Sam has become a Milotic in addition to Flareon (which I can't really remove since that's a key part of the Eevee Team theme). But I can switch in Gyrados for the person who has Milotic.


EDIT: And Umbralite sounds amusing. ^^ Although I wouldn't have my character have a significant role in the main story. He/she (haven't decided) would be more of a footnote in the annals of PATCA's proud history.

EDIT: I am heavily thinking on the weird idea of a perverted Dugtrio pokebrid. Someone who due to losing most of his body in some tragic accident, becomes a pokebrid who is practically fused to the ground/floor, digging everywhere he goes and being able to look upskirt as a standard course of action due to where his head is located. Too bad he gets stepped on lots of times by accident (he's too fast to hit on purpose especially when caught peeping and is thus a Whack-A-Mole game on Ultra Hard setting) and he's even shorter than Renny (due to practically but not literally being a disembodied head attached to the ground). Having 3 heads only add to the zaniness... Even worse, he's probably naked from the head down, since his body never really leaves the ground anyhow and thus no one would see it.

AB, I dunno why you think ESTOC is a terrible acronym.

An estoc is an incredibly specialized french longsword (although it was also made for 2 handed use) for dealing with plate and mail armor. To make it even more aptly symbolic, an Estoc has no edge, just a very very sharp point kinda like a rapier (as if they couldn't afford to sharpen the blade just like the ESTOC squad!)

I played this game Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrel and one of the weapons that could be bought/equipped was an Estoc. Hence the name struck a chord. ^^

Anyways, I'm only going to bother with a character sheet for Naomi Miyamoto just so I remember who she is and what role she plays, but she won't have any serious statistics or anything.

Weapons: Hell's Trumpet (Fire Type Grenade Cannon) and Twilight Fang (Dark Type Greatsword)
Armor: A surprisingly sexy mix of platemail, leather and cloth which still exposes the midriff and a surprising amount of cheek...and not the kind on the face. Protects from some Steel, Fighting, Normal, and Dark damage.
Background: Naomi had it all. A betrothed any woman... *looks at Charlotte* ...well, most women would be jealous of. Riches. Influence. Authority. Intelligence. Beauty. Skills. But she didn't like that so much of her life was decided for her. She was so fuckin' tired of politics and hoity-toity parties, and to hell with getting married and popping out children! Oh, but she is a good cook, though. And she does like kids. And kitties!
But I digress. So she promptly said "fuck it" and went on her way to leave the Hiroshiho Empire. Her parents wouldn't have any of that naturally, and even to this day they have a sizeable amount of the Hiroshiho Army looking for her.
In order to avoid all possible attempts at being discovered, Naomi dyed her hair blonde, put in blue contact lenses, and is adamant about being referred to by her callsign, Passionata. Still, there is one thing that reveals who she really is, and that's her weapons. Hell's Trumpet and Twilight Fang have been passed down in her family for generations. She knows this, which is why she wields it much differently than she ever did when before she wasn't running away. However, her new way of fighting isn't exactly...umm, practical. She sort of lives in poverty because the vast majority of her paychecks go towards repairing the absurd amounts of collatoral damage and sky high hospital bills from injured bystanders. Despite living in the shittiest hotels and dining on fine feasts of ramen without any flavor powder, Naomi still holds onto the one thing that keeps her going: she's a free woman now. And she doesn't regret forsaking all the fine foods, comfortable beds, loads of money, respect from all...actually, it's probably best to end the background here. She might decide to go back to Hiroshiho if I keep reminding her about it all.
