Latest episode was solid but I kept getting a distinct impression that it was written for Bronies / older fans more than young girls, and that's a little problematic for me.
I mean, the nuclear rainboom, Fluttershy snapping the neck of a bear, and the entire town beating each other up for a doll constitutes somewhat more violent imagery than I feel appropriate with.
And Twilight was written a bit too zany for her characterization, in my opinion. I get that she's flawed and should have occasional meltdowns, but she never went quite this far in S1, and as a usual 'voice of reason' / 'straight pony' character on the show, it all felt out of line for her.
