That's still missing the point , which is to minimize the "business" aspects of creative endeavors. Unless I'm mistaken, there's no rule to Kickstarter that says a product must be delivered to contributors, it's just an obvious choice of incentive.(considering kickstarters have been succesfully funded for free internet shows). The point is to crowd-fund the creation of a thing for it's own sake.

thats one way to look at it. Here is another "Oh you like this show, well if you dont give us a million dollars we are going to kill it."

These are people with conventional channels to fund shows, while there are plenty of legitimate times to do this I also know there have been times unscrupulous people do things like this just to milk money from a fan base.

Obviously its your money, but I'd sooner spend my money on a start-up than an already established for profit studio.

There's only one way to look at this, actually, that's as what it is. An independant site that facilititates "save our show" fan projects. You're kind of not looking at it and trying to discuss it at the same time.

Studios function a bit differently than you seem to think. Studios are the equivalent of a comic book writer/artist working for Marvel/DC(quite literally in the case of YJ). They work for the "conventional channels to fund shows"(that'd be networks.) and don't really own anything or have any independant money. Further if they could just "get" funding, nothing would get cancelled(and they wouldn't be cancelled to begin with and wouldn't be up on this site).

Dude I don't have any money. At all. It's just that you're kind of very wrong. And this is the internet, so....

no, thats exactly what I thought it was. You misunderstood my meaning. They are an established studio meaning they have credentials and networking to pull from. There are other studios that lack this, so I view it as a more productive use of my money.

If I like an established show I support it through ad revenue and purchasing things like DVDs. Shows have been brought back for these reasons in the past.

Also, stop getting so defensive. I am trying to say I would not give money for something I am already supporting through the above methods. There is such a thing as an opinion, and more than one can exist about a subject. You are not wrong in yours.

Pretty sure studios are contracted workers, I.e. excluding startup kickstarter-style scenarios they don't actually work on their projects. That is to say, an attempt to "save a show" is not an attempt to "fund this studio". Which was my point and the thing you're clearly actively refusing to "get" at this point

That is a very valid point that doesn't have anything to do with anything that you just made there, good for you.

I'm just going to saunter past all the things wrong with this to remind you that you're the only one having the"starving children in Africa vs. Rich white american kids asking for a sandwhich" discusion.

See, now I'm gong to have to actually get defensive so this bit can make sense, so you know,NO U!

And I am trying to say that has nothing to do with this.

Dude, this discussion is about you not reading the website and nothing else I don't give a shit about opinions.
