You can see game libraries on Steam.

For non-steam games, you'd have to ask them (through a proxy such as whoever organizes the whole thing so you remain secret). Anyway, I'm willing to participate again this year. Also, I agree with RO that it shouldn't be limited exclusively to Steam. And finally, there should be a span of 2 or 3 days, either near Xmas or after the Steam Xmas sale has ended (probably the latter), where everyone sends their gifts. Last year people were kind of sending their gifts whenever over an entire week, and I feel that contributed to the lack of post secret santa feedback/excitement. So you narrow that window down to 2 or 3 days to account for real life schedules, but you still get that "unwrap our presents as a group" vibe.

Steam has a wishlist for a reason.
If people want something that's not on steam, they should say it in a post. |

Unless people are ok with PM'ing serial keys, we need to stay with systems that allow Gifting, no?
I for example, have origin and steam, and i have bought games on GOG. But i would prefer steam just to keep my stuff organized. But if someone sees i game i wanted cheaper on GOG than on steam, then please, go right ahead y'know... Same goes if you prefer a certain game on a linux or mac version. sure, it's less common, but if there is the option... Bottom line, anyone going into this, needs to give a good set of information. that being said, i think Arcanun is right on this... we need to define a window of purchase and gifting so stuff get more organized. We also need someone who can pair everybody up and oversee this operation |

Anyone know a good program for randomizing pairings of this nature? If so I suggest that person organizes thing

using that generator we wouldn't need a "Secret Santa Moderator" it would be all automatic, is that right?
If so, great! We have a good group of people here, if that is ok, maybe we can start putting dates down and information from people? We need a final date to signup, and someone willing to receive all data and generate. We also need a date range for delivery of all gifts within those days. Also, how people like to handle their secret santa? Reveal, not reveal, give clues and others take guesses...? Either way, in-forum feedback should be the way to go. Maybe give clues as to who your scret santa is BEFORE sending the gift? i think that covers that part. As for personal data, e-mails should be sent only to who agrees to generate the pairings via PM. Other than that we would need Preferred Platforms for gifting (with related Handle or account name) Preferred genres of games Link to library of titles (if possible) 3 suggestions of stuff you would like i think that covers it, no? |

Well guys, the Autumn sale is upon us. Do we want to do this now or wait till the inevitable Winter sale? My vote's for Winter, since we didn't actually get this secret santa dealie up and running in time.

I'd prefer the winter sale. I work retail so oddly enough right now is most hectic

Winter. Sales will probably be a little better, or at least a few games people want will go on first/bigger discount.
