Even the orriginal calvinball as played by Calvin and Hobbs had rules. The fact that those changed constantly made no difference. Even our version of calvinball Has rules and guidlines if you look hard enough.

People were abusing the lack of rules, and it was ruining the game.

one thing that i can not 100% absolutly stand is the controlling of other players. that has to stop. it should be one of the most severly punishable acts

Okay...I like Newb's idea. It's very Final Fantasy Tactics: Advanced with the yellow and red cards and everything.

So, generally, it would look like this.

1. 1st Minor infraction/innocent mistake: Warning, and tips given on how to avoid this in the future.

2: 2nd minor infraction and/or 1st Major infraction: Yellow card, resulting ban of X number of posts. If in possession of calvinball, the ball will respawn at a different location, according to the will of the ref.

3: 3rd minor / 2nd Major: Second Yellow card. This will result in a ban of X number of pages, and will result in the calvinball being respawned if in possession of offending player. This ban will carry over into the next game if need be.

4: 4th minor / 3rd Major / Uber-Infraction: Red card. Banned for remainder of game, and also may be banned from next game if infraction happens at end of current game. Player suffers humliating death at the hands of refs, and cannot respawn until ban is over.

Minor infractions would include the like of declaring the effect of the attack, not just the attack, spamming, and the like.

Major infractions would include deus ex machina claiming of the ball, prolonged god-moddiness, prolonged spamming, and god-modding to "kill other players"

Uber-Infractions include malicious god-modding to kill all other players (this has happened before), willfully posting before any prior bans are over, and extreme cases of spamming.

Also, we need to settle a few other things. Such as, how many refs? I would say at least two per game, so that there can be no claim of favoring or anything like that. Also, one ref can pick up what the other one misses.

So far, DB has offered to be a ref. I'll volunteer to be a ref as well, since it was my idea, and I like the idea of riding around on a armored chocobo like the judges do in FFT:A :p.

Does that sound good to everyone else? Any suggestions? Feel free to comment, this is a community after all, and we need everyone's input to make this go smoothly.

would controlling other players be god-modding cause i hope tha it is so know one does it if it isn't it should be a major infraction

I would also recommend an "elastic rule" that lets you create new rules on the fly in case something weird happens like if two people break the rules at once.

You might want to wait until we get this ironed out a little more, Argent. That way we won't be throwing in refs halfway into the game.
