Well there is no reason to have quantity over quality. I personally think that if the Lizard was going to have to play a role in the movie, it should be something to get done within the first 15 minutes of the movie. Open it with Spidey chasing the Lizard, capturing him, saving him, and getting him in a prison from which the Lizard can serve as a mentor.

I'm hoping for Venom to make an appearance like everyone else is simply because Venom is such a brilliant character by himself. Perhaps at some point the Goblin and Venom will clash, most likely at the end. I don't see the Goblin really playing a role until the end of the movie, making his presence known then. Venom should be the main villain and be the largest concern of Spiderman. If they wanted to, they could tie it into the Lizard as one of his experiments gone awry, particularly at the beginning of the movie. Have spidey capture the Lizard and end up getting some of the symbiote on him, have Spidey manage to get it off of himself fairly quickly, then cut to Peter Parker living his life and display what the symbiote does in bits and pieces combined with how it manages to get to Eddie Brock.

Actually Harry just becomes the Green Goblin like his father before him. The Hob Goblin was a completely seperate character with a seperate identity. A man broke into Oscorp, stole the Goblin serum, some technology, and rained havok completely independently from the Osbournes. Hob Goblin is not Harry Osbourne.

That, and this is the movies, not the show/comics, so there's going to be some differences.

I do not believe they'll have spidey wearing the black suit for long, if at all, because of the marketing perception of people. The image of spidey is his orginal suit, and they will try to make as much money off of image recognition as possible.

A more likely scenario may have the symbiote simply go straight to Brock, bypassing Petey completely. That, or the symbiote will look like the original blue & red.

Black suit would be cool, and you could market it very well to people who don't know about pre-venom black suit.

You absolutely need the plot to focus on the behind-the-scenes struggle with Harry and Peter, which one of the best things in the series.

I don't think the movie should cleave to original backstories too much, though.
Try and sneak to many direct quotes to the comics into a movie and you get crap like Spiderman 2.

And it would be nice if no one got kidnapped this time, maybe playing off the fact that Harry is close to a lot of the same people as Pete, and wouldn't want to hurt them.
Maybe you could have a whole crapload of villains trying to off Pete and having him snap(thanks to the black suit.)

I would like to see Mary Jane killed, too.
I...just don't like her.

Picture this:
Pete is finally on top of things, graduating college, nice job, and engaged to MJ.
But Harry is starting to piece together his revenge scheme...
OScorp begins to develop a new superweapon, the symbiote(yes I'm going with a version of the Ultimate backstory)
Harry intends to use it in conjunction with his Dad's old toys to take down Spidey, all the while tortured by his friendship with Pete.
It goes beserk in testing and somehow finds it's way to Pete(it know it's supposed to kill him?)
Pete wears the black suit from then on(don't ask me how it goes from assainating him to being on him).
Harry then doubles his efforts to take down Spidey.
About an hour in, Mary Jane dies in a way that is partially Pete's fault for being too hotheaded (too busy fighting to save the girl?).
So The stress eventually gets to Spidey and he challenges Gobby to a fight to the death.
He realizes somewhere in there that Harry is The Goblin, and he'd be killing him, but the suit makes him want to (Revenge for MJ? good reasoning?)

So he casts off the suit, but still has to make his appointment with Harry.

An Eddie Brock I introduced within the first half hour but forgot to tell you about, gets the suit, and renews the suit's purpose to kill Spidey(It had it's feeling hurt when it was cast off?)

Spidey and Gobby are locked in epic conflict for a long time, with Pete trying to keep Harry alive at every turn.

Then Venom innterupts and tries to kill Pete.
Harry begins to attack Venom (To save Pete? Because he want to be the one who kills spidey? intentional ambiguousness ahoy!)
And this gives Pete the chance to incapacitate both of them.

Harry goes to counseling(he was doing drugs at some point back in there)
And Pete is trying to deal with the sorrow.
But the last shot is some clue that makes Peter think MJ is alive.

Personally, I'd love for the 'man-spider' thing to appear, thus having the Lizard Man villian possibilty even more dramatic. Peter Parker having to go through the side-effects of his mutation while trying to stop and 'save' Lizard man would be interresting.

PLOT AS I SEE IT -

The movie starts off with Dr.Connors turning himself into the Lizard. Eddie Brock discovers this through some strange luck and attempts to break a story that'll expose and ruin Dr.Connors.

Peter (Spiderman) successfully turns the Lizard back into Dr.Connors, thereby ruining Brock's reputation and gets him fired instead.

Then comes character development. Peter and Mary Jane are engaged, Harry seems to be distancing himself from Peter, and JJJ's son ends up going to space and bringing back a pile of black goo either before the Lizard or at this point.

Then through some more plot twists, Brock becomes infused with the symbiote to become Venom and Harry attacks Peter at his and MJ's wedding or something as the Green Goblin (or possibly the Hobgoblin to satisfy fans who know nothing about the actual comics).

Harry and Peter struggle, but this gets interrupted by Venom who Spiderman's complete and total character foil. Spiderman can't beat him, and Venom kidnaps MJ in order to hurt Peter Parker. Then Harry and Peter temporarily team up in order to save MJ, and Harry ends up dying/getting seriously hurt saving Peter in spite of how much he hates him.

Somewhere along the lines, water will become involved and Kirsten Dunst won't be wearing a bra, and this will result in her nipples once again showing through her shirt. Given that, I think Spiderman 3 will be pretty good. ^-^

*EDIT* And I think it'll end with Peter and MJ finally getting married. After all, they actually DO get married in the comics and they're going to want the trilogy to at least get that far.
