Default Video game endings

What was the worst video game ending you have ever seen, for me it was a very simple question, Halo 2 saying the words "ending this fight" is not a good ending especially when I waited so long for the damn game.

Then I thought there has a ending worse than this so what is the worst video game ending you've ever seen.

I personally thought the ending to Chrono Cross was bad. (and I'm pretty sure I got the "good" ending, since it had so many endings) It was really short and... really didn't warrent playing 30+ hours of a game. But I guess it's not the WORST one ever...

One bad ending that sticks out in my mind is that old nintendo game: rampage. It takes many hours to beat, with no save points, and all it says is: "Congradulations!" in the credits.

Fire emblem 7.

Let's pull our heroes out of trouble, AND get something of a happy ending, by magically reviving someone from death. Sure wish I could have done that whenever I wanted during the game.

I didn't really like any of the Dynasty Warriors character's endings. Many character's story modes were hard to beat, and at the end, you got a cheap cutscene of the character drinking wine with his buddies. And credits. It's like that with every character. It was not satisfying at all.

The Samurai Warriors endings were better, at least you got to see a cutscene of what happens after their last battle and such. They still weren't good though.

OMG. Drakengard. No contest. No amount of cool dragon flying action warrants you constantly getting screwed, killing children, and getting eaten all the time in the ending.

And it had more than one. Each one just got worse! >.<

FFVII? Dunno if I could make an objective case, but personally I'd say it's the worst. I was like "No seriously, where the fuck is the rest of the game?" In particular, the part that made all of the other parts make sense.

I've seen a few games since then that pissed me off that way, but that was really the first one to hack me off that way. I got a bit of the same feeling from FFVI, but it's like, that was a depressing ending, but it was still an ending. Even the games like Mortal Kombat or Doom or whatever usually gave you some text screens saying what happens to the character, and those weren't really games where I was really involved in the storylnie.

Um, what else... there's always the Super Mario ending, where they just start you off right the fuck back at the beginning. That was a bit of a burn.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. I wanted to see the parades that had been in SMRPG and Paper Mario. Instead we watched a cartoony plane fly. Whee. :|

What?!?!

FFVII had a great ending! My disc was scratched, the movie kept skipping, and it was still awesome. I'd like to hear why you think it's bad.

hmm, i think it would have to be Tales of Symphonia. I really liked the game, and i still think it stands out as a beacon of goodness among other recent RPGs, but i didn't enjoy the last 5 hours of the game. Up untill that point, the game had done a good job of being original, and while the story was certainly long, it kept the ridiculousness to a minimum. the whole last part of the game just seemed full of plot-holes and cliches. it was one of those "I'm not mad, I'm just...disapointed" moments.
