honestly, it looks like you were saying that mafia people might be torn on whether to kill you because they don't know if you're in the mafia or not.

to me, that's a big flag marking odd and unreasonable logic.

there again, my logic may look odd and unreasonable to others.

Were you speaking to me or Kikuichimonji?

If you were speaking to me, I meant that the pirates know who each other are. Thus, they would never accuse one another.

And, of course, they would know who died. You can expect they would be on the scene, waiting to see how the rest of us go.

Actually, now I'm curious as to why Psycho Mantis said the exact opposite. Hmmmmmm.

I was speaking to Kiku

but you do raise an interesting point.

I will be voting in around half an hour.

this should give him ample time to defend himself(psycho).

I agree, that would make me extremely suspicious, but I'm not saying that. I'm saying that the mafia won't know whether to kill me or not because the bodyguard might figure out I'm not mafia and trying to present a calm, step-by-step voting process, rather than the "he did it" that is the first two pages. Thus, when the mafia votes, since the bodyguard thinks I'm a good person to have around, the mafia will have less of an incentive to vote for me, as it raises the probability that I'm defended, on average.

hmmm, still rather twisty logic, but it does have a sense of order to it.

I'll leave you be for the time being then.

Ah... what deep games we play when we try to decipher what people think. You can be one of the mafia, and be trying to press the bodyguard to defend you. Of course, then the detective should investigate you... might make things more clear... if anybody believes him. Wasn't there someone in the Trojan Wars who could see the future but the curse was nobody would believe her? Yeah, that's what these games kind of end up being like.

As such, I already brought up (in that one random basing of stuff) that we can't think of them as an indevidual. The Wandering God has also brought up a nice point, that they will all defend eachother. The problem is, stating these things means they'll play mind games and do what we say they won't do. Or they'll play more mind games and don't do it when we think they will do it.

This game is so much easier when you can read somebodies face, and not their text.

Really though, shouldn't the bodyguard, or doctor and the policeman, or detective* or whoever he is have a private hotline? I mean come on!

*Or is he a sheriff in this game? There was a sheriff mentioned...

OOC: Ok, first of all, let me point out that if I was a mafia why would I be the first to post and do something like SEARCHING THE CORPSE? The arguement that I was "removing clues" doesnt fly because that is beyond the rules of the game. The fact is I was having a little fun roleplaying. If I was a mafia I wouldnt show up first on the scene and start acting suspicious unless I was an idiot, and I can post a couple of my Discussion forum posts if you want proof that I'm not brain-dead :P

IC: Psycho Mantis stood up straight "Now wait a minute, why're y'all lookin' at me funny?" His southern accent has a tendacy to come out when he's upset. "I'm right about the non-posting thing. Look at who has been accused thusfar! Almost EVERY accusation is directed to a person here at the scene. Therefore the best way to avoid being accused would be not to come here at all(OCC: ie. stay out of the spotlight)! I still think that most of the mafonians will wait until the very end to show up and pile on accusations, letting us fight amongst ourselves first. Now, I dont have an accusation ready yet, but think about what I have to say before you start pointing fingers at me."

in the version I'm used to playing the sheriff's findings are told to everybody.

town aligned or mafia aligned, they are now on file.

surprisingly, I've seen mafia people survive a full two turns after being revealed like that.

with this version though, I can see where the role of sheriff is more difficult.

According to the first page, it's a police officer, and that person can't have any outside communication. Which means that we can't directly talk to that person.

However, we can probably leave ideas for who they could check out. It'll be good to have at least one person know for sure whether someone is a townie or a mafia person.

Personally, I say check out Inbred, Pyros, Psycho, or Kikuichimonji. Just to be safe.

Alright, but I want someone to tell me what I've done that's suspicious. I might be playing stupid mind games with my bodyguard comment, but I was basically getting angry at others for pointing fingers without reason. Someone list the reasons to check out each person so far. Don't wanna waste a vote or investigation on non-mafia because we jump the gun, ya know?

Also, I agree with Psycho: make everyone contribute. That way we can evaluate everyone, rather than the people posting.
